Decided to let this thing go as I can't see myself getting the time to work on it any time in the near future. It's 90% finished, you just need to solder up a couple of columns and program the AVR and you should be good to go. I couldn't wrap my head around the code side of things but I'm sure someone with more experience in C shouldn't have any problems.
Includes almost an entire set of Cherry Doubleshots minus the F10 key and that dang left arrow. Will include a caps lock as well, it will need to be modded to fit on the keyboard though as it's off-center stemmed.
Postage will be a flat $15 worldwide, if it goes over I'll cover the extra because I'm nice like that :p
I'm also going to donate 10% of the proceeds to GH as this board wouldn't have even been possible without this place!
Package contents
Plate, aluminum sandwich case, 66x MX Brown switches, ATMEGA32u4 AVR (http://www.mattairtech.com/index.php/development-boards/atmega32u4-usb-development-board-arduino-compatible.html) etc.
GH Teensy Breakout board (in case you decide to swap the AVR)
Doubleshot Cherry keycaps
Rubber feet and mounting hardware (standoffs in various sizes, screws etc)
Starting price: $1 (classy 70's carpet NOT included!)
Currently Leading: tempiz @ $75
Auction Ends: Thursday, 17th October @ 20:00 EST (http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/to?msg=bueller%27s%2065%25%20Auction&p0=377&year=2013&month=10&day=17&hour=20&min=0&sec=0)

I would be willing to complete and then send it back to you if you would like something like that.

Cheers for the offer mate, to be honest my tastes have changed since I started this project so I'll just let it go. Hopefully someone gets a nice bargain out of it and it finally see's some use!
-
When will this end, good sir? I'm keeping my eye on it.
-
I'll give it a week, I hate long auctions.

What's the controller on this? atmega32u4 or another?

Good question. I wanted to ask that, but I forgot...
-

Yep its an ATMEGA32u4, this is basically a teensy clone with some extra options like pinouts for USB connectors etc. Will also provide one of the GH Teensy breakout boards if you want to swap the AVR out for one.
EDIT: I have a full datasheet for it with all the pinouts.
-
So could you (we) use the firmware for the GH60 (maybe with adjustments for 65% layout)?
Also, does it have all the plates for a full case or is it only the plate for plate mount?

Yep that was originally my plan for the firmware! I should have thought to include a photo of the plates to make the case, check the OP now.
-
So it comes with that whole case?
-
So it comes with that whole case?
Indeed it does, I really want to sell this with everything necessary to get it built.
-
So you're saying it also comes with a soldering iron? :p

Haha if it didn't blow out the shipping cost I probably would as I have a spare one!
-
55$ looks like it will be fun.
-
Interesting. I'll bite $60.00
-
Noted and OP updated!
-
good opportunity for someone here :thumb:
-
I'll toss in at $65.
-
Op updated and a bump to end the week :)
-
Gotta start Monday out with a bump - $70.00.
Have a great week!! :)

How do I use bid sniper for this?

I'll make sure I get a proper countdown going later on today :)

OP updated with countdown!

How do I use bid sniper for this?
What is "bid sniper" ?
Someone please educate me before PointyFoc educates me! :)

It's an eBay thing, there's a number of sites you can sign up to that will automatically bid on your behalf in the closing seconds of the auction. Just over 15 hours to go everyone!
-
good luck. I wish I could bid to help you (current price at $70 is too low), but in the unlikely case I win, I don't have the ability to fix it up so I dare not bid.

Cheers mate, i'm going to bed soon too so I won't even be able to keep track of the festivities!

Question, when you say the capslock is off center stemmed, do you mean the key cap, or the switch itself. switch looks like it would be centered to me, but wanting to double check.
-
The cap. You can see the switch is centered.
-
It looked like the switch was centered, but I wanted to be totally sure. Today has been one of those days where brain no work.

Yeah. A couple noticeable things: switch looks centered; set is Cherry, thus off center Caps.
-
To be honest, I'd never taken all the caps off my cherry, so didn't know that they did things off set like that. Seems really kinda strange. But then again, I never liked my cherry board (I quickly discovered after years of using buckling springs, that I really couldn't get used to the linear switches MY switches on the G81-1800).
-
if whoever wins this wants to sell me that right shift, id be a very happy bunny
-
Some will tell you that's because MY are horrible switches. Have you tried any MX switches ever?
-

Sorry. I'm going to have to start a thread like you, looking for arrow keys and such...
-
A little bit, but not all that much. Browns felt the best to me ableit a bit light. The blues I tried felt really scratchy, and I couldn't stand the high pitched ping of the blues. The linear MXs I've tried were used in POS systems I had used before, and were still kinda bleh to me because I like feeling the click. I did get the cherry with the MYs more recently (~3 weeks ago), but I had used it before when working on my brother in law's machine (he recently swapped out keyboards, and gave me his old one since he knows I like mechs).
I'm just big on tactile. I've used M's and F's since the '80s, so used to that. Even with the rubber domes I've used, you still have the point when the dome collapses to give you some tactile sensation. Part of it too, is I messed up my right arm in a work accident years ago, and my sense of feeling and control isn't the best. For linear switches, it is hard for me to know if I've moved far enough to hit the activation point. Even with tactile feedback, it is tricky, but I know if I don't feel anything, to try and adjust.
-
You should try MX Clears, possibly. I don't like linear switches either. BS are nice, as are Topre.
-
I'd love to get some clears. I wanted to see about Code, but didn't have the funds when they were available. Had thought about buying one of qtan's leopolds in clear (He had a badass looking FC660M in grey), but passed on it because I was unsure of the layout. (Had I known that the function layer mapped the arrow keys to the end, home, page up and page down, I'd have probably got it, I went just off the legends which also showed some random letter keys that are also mapped for those). From everything I've read, the clears sound like a good match up for me.

Is it just me, or is the timer off by an hour?
-
I was wondering that too. it is showing 16:38 now, and he updated his post at 4:51am with 15 hours left. I am taking that as just a little over 3 hours left.
-
The countdown timer is correct guys, there is just under 2 hours remaining.
-
Why is the "Exquisite Elder" watching this thread? For keycaps or are you wanting to play with it? You are going to make me set an alarm to come check on this and give bueller more money! I'm poorer after joining Geek hack aka wallet hack!
By the way - thanks for the Filco!
-
May I ask whats left to solder? I cant tell by the picture much.
-
Just a few columns on the left hand side, they're not actually shown in the picture as I took that prior to desoldering.
-
Eh, Lets go, I bid $75.
-
It begins!
-
It begins!
Indeed, It does.

Don't worry moose is gonna throw out a winning bid, and bueller put lots of work in to this he deserves a nice return
-
Yeah, Probably. Worth a shot though. ;D Gonna be making a direct wired anyway, this is just a shorter route for me. If I dont win this, I suppose I have to make the full thing.
