If you live near a Fry's, you should get on this. I saw this in store today. The Hakko-888D, as far as I know, goes for about $100 normally and is currently $91 on Amazon. $69.99 seems like an amazing deal!
seems a good price, but why it has a different packing with the one that I bought on amazon?the retail packaging has a cardboard sleeve on it. the ones bdent ships out do not come with the cardboard sleeve.
You yanks get all the good deals. That iron costs about 280$ in Norway.

I'm sure it can be mail forwarded to you for less than $40 shipping unless it weighs much more than a keyboard. I'd be glad to do it if I had a fry's nearby :pYou yanks get all the good deals. That iron costs about 280$ in Norway.
Same here :(

Anyone at all willing to proxy this to Singapore for me?
£100 in britain
$70 in US
:'(
I don't live near Fry's, the best I could get one is at $90. I'd proxy one to you, but with shipping from where I live, it'd be 5 GBP less than just buying it.:-*

Appreciate it man. It would work out more expensive, as I'd have to buy a transformer that can handle 100w anyway.
It just saddens me slightly that I have to pay double.
That's meant for TEK projects (the TEK-60 mainly) and that's what I'll be spending the money on, not soldering gear. But yes, in a way it means the prototype will cost me less and so I'll have a bit more money to spend on stuff such as soldering gear.I don't live near Fry's, the best I could get one is at $90. The money from bunny's raffle should cover it though, right?
PS. - Personally I never knew there were 27,000+ people who love their keyboards this much as to mod, light and customize the hell out of them! Pretty cool stuff.wait until you see how to they feel about their keycaps!
btw you might want to PM mkawa or hashbaz as they are the 2 big dogs on this site.

I like to consider myself rounding out the top three big dongs around here.
Hey everyone.. not sure if I should post here... but, will take the chance (I need to find an admin really). ;D
We've sold a few of you some products over the years, and after finding you recently, and a short meeting in the office yesterday we thought we'd see if the members here would like the use of a few forum specials - like group buys but more general or specific - maybe for the FX888D and other equipment and supplies from B+D? Heck, for those who missed the Fry's deal maybe we help you get the 888 before end of year?
If someone could have an admin member PM me to approve us offering it, we'll get a program together in a day or two just for geekhack.org.
