Title: [GB] Swiss Studio PBT Dyesub Keysets (Taking orders)
Post by: feng on Wed, 16 October 2013, 03:53:19
Swiss Studio is a new fround studio in China focusig on making dyesub keycaps. Their ways of using dyesub bring us many possibilities. This time, the thing we're trying to push is color. You can choose any color you want for the dyesub fonts. And next time, hopefully we'll surprise you by presenting another new type of dyesub products. ;)

These keycaps are PBT (regular, not thick) and OEM profile. The spacebar has 5 stems and is compatible with Filco, Ducky, Das, Poker, Leopold FC200R, etc.

We're providing three options for different uses:
1) 61-Keyset (for 60% keyboards such as Poker)
2) 87-Keyset (for 80% keyboards such as Filco Tenkeyless)
3) Numpad Set (17 keys included)

4 additional keycaps will be included in each 61-keyset and 87-keyset.

[attach=6][attach=7]

As for other layouts like ISO, I'm sorry but we don't have the mold to make those keycaps yet. We're only able to provide ANSI layout at this time.

We also have two different fonts for this group buy:
Font #1 Swiss Special
Font #2 Arial Rounded (Similar to Cherry replica font)

Available colors of fonts: any colors. Yes that's right, any colors. The base color is white and we don't have other base color available yet.

You can choose any color you want from http://www.ralcolor.com/ and we'll try our best to make the actually colors accurate.

Deadline: November 30th. The deadline doesn't mean when the production starts, it only means when I'm going to stop taking orders. I'll split up the orders into 3 batches and send them to Swiss Studio every 15 days. So the sooner you order, the faster you get. After sending orders to Swiss Studio, it will roughly take them a week to produce the product and be ready to ship. Yeah, ONE week. They have a few people to work on it.

Schedule for Starting Production:
1st batch - Oct 31st
2nd batch - Nov 15th
3rd batch - Nov 30th

Swiss Special (Font #1)
[attach=3] [attach=1] [attach=2]

Arial Rounded (Font #2)
[attach=4] [attach=5]

Pricing:

61-Keyset - $38
87-Keyset - $48
Numpad Set - $10

Shipping:

For the record, 1 set means a 104-keyset which weighs about 6-7oz.

Chinese Parcel Post (for all countries) - $8.5 for 1 set, $11.5 for 2 sets, $14.5 for 3 sets, etc. (This takes 15-20 days for delivery, directly shipped from China)
DHL Express (Asian countries) - $20 for 1-2 sets, $23 for 3-4 sets. (This takes 3-4 days for delivery, directly shipped from China)
DHL Express (Australia) -  $24 for 1-2 sets, $30 for 3-4 sets. (Same as above)
DHL Express (USA/Canada) - $23 for 1-2 sets, $27 for 3-4 sets. (Same as above)
DHL Express (Western European countries) - $24 for 1-2 sets, $28 for 3-4 sets. (Same as above)
USPS First Class (US only) - $3 for 1 set (orders will be packed together and shipped to me, and then I'll distrubite them to US buyers, somehow this might take longer than those direct shipping methods from China)
USPS Priority (US only) - $5.5 for 1-2 sets, $8 for 3-4 sets, $10 for more than 4 sets. (same as above)

How to order:

Please choose the color(s) you want from http://www.ralcolor.com/ and then paste the RAL# and RAL-RGB# into the order form.

e.g. if you want Lemon yellow, you should type in RAL 1012, 199-180-070 as your color choice.

Here's the order format: Keyset, Font#, RAL#, RAL-RGB#.
Examples:
61-keyset, font#1, RAL 1006, 228-160-016
87-keyset, font#2, RAL 3024, 248-000-000

Paypal only. If you're fine with the extra 3.9% paypal fees and don't want to waste time on calculating the total amount, you can just go ahead and fill out the order form and then I'll send you an invoice within 48 hours.

However, if you prefer to save some Paypal fees, here's another way of sending payment. Please send the payment to xiruo_tang@hotmail.com as gift (as to friends/family) before submitting your order. If you’re not sure about the total amount, feel free to send me a message or email (tangxiruo@hotmail.com).

Oops, sorry forgot about that. I've removed Pure from the compatible list.

Regular thickness. The only base color we have so far is white.

Is it just me it does the RAL chart NOT represent regular purple.

It's there a way to represent this?

Also, is there a plan to use black caps in the future?

If love a purple font on black. It's very cool subtle look.

As far as I know, you cannot dyesub anything onto black.

Also, is this not purple? RAL 4008

RAL4005 looks more like purple but it's still off.

btw, the "insert" key legend is misspelt. It's written as "insent".

edit: the mistake shown on cherry replica font.

These are dyesub. You can't dyesub purple on black.

Any color?! That's really interesting.

I wish they were Cherry profile though.

Some of those unique Modifier Legends look good, but some seem strange to me. Why is there a circle as Enter for example?

Chinese sets always seem to have wack legends.  The backslash and pipe, for example, is way off the the right on this one.

I guess because O means OK, at least in Japan (maybe in China too).

The insert button has a spelling mistake. It says "insent" for the Arial font.

Really considering getting this for a future poker. RAL 6027 would look really nice on white I think.

I think Traffic purple is the purple you're looking for. Traffic red, traffic blue, etc. they all represent the standard of a certain color.

If we can get black PBT keycaps somewhere, then yes we can dyesub on black keycaps. For now, we only have the resource of white PBT keycaps.

Thanks for pointing that out! The final product will not have this error for sure.

I don't know why they came up with these kinds of fonts either. Circle doesn't mean Enter or anything, I guess they just thought it looks good.

Nice legend font ^_^

So far, we're only able to provide these standard 104-keyset and 87-keyset. Once we found new resource of keycap manufacture, we'll be able to provide more options.

Yes that's correct. :)

That's a neat idea to have any color legends--and the legends themselves are unusual.  :thumb:  Pretty good price for all that too!

You can't do that, as purple is lighter than black.  You can only have that for doubleshot caps. Or engraved + filled/printed.

I thought that too, but Feng made it sound like it is possible. Maybe he can elaborate on that for us.

Yea. Now I'm confused.

Is it possible or not?

I remember some black pbt key caps that were being sold. They had a black dye-sub.

Is there any way they could fix the zero in the number pad set so it lines up with the 1? It being centered is weird.

It is possible to dyesub on black caps, of course. The problem is they're black. You wouldn't be able to tell that there is a purple legend on them. And that's if you'd be able to tell at all. Those black dyesubbed caps were not easy to tell the legends. And that was black on black. I think IF you could see them, they'd just appear black.
