Title: TECK Questions (PBT & Switch Replacement)
Post by: AlphaEta on Wed, 16 October 2013, 16:36:33
Hi everyone!

Lurker for some time. Hoping to get some help with the TECK here. I was wondering where I can find some PBT keycaps that's compatible with the TECK. I'm mostly concerned about the compatibility of the spacebar and middle buttons. Has anyone tried replacing them before?

I also noticed there is a gap between the PCB and the plate on the TECK, do I have to unsolder the switches to replace them or is there enough of a gap to shimmy it out?

Bump!

Seriously? No one has tried to mod the TECK?

I don't use this keyboard, but it seems to me all but those custom shaped middle keys should be fine to replace. Since you need many of specific size buying from signature plastic blank key inventory is probably your best bet. Most of the keys are just usual 1 or 2 unit key. It's a platemount keyboard so yes you will have to desolder to remove the switch to change the type.
