Title: Eizo Foris 2333
Post by: Forsythe on Fri, 18 October 2013, 06:46:41
I am currently looking to upgrade my 3 years old Samsung monitor, and I can get this monitor right now for 340$ AUD shipped as it is on promotion. That's about 320-330$ USD.

What does anyone think of this monitor? Should I grab it now? Or are there better opportunities? I don't really fancy the 1440p korean monitors.

I heard it performs pretty good for a monitor in this price class, ok good image quality and very low lag...

Is it the same model as the mentioned? Because I noticed the other models from Eizo is very expensive.

sorry, they're of the more expensive ones. So I can only speak in general about eizo, not about that specific model.

If you take gaming seriously.. IPS is out...

NOTHING beats the 120/144hz TN panels... They're LIGHTING.... and for the most part.. quite inexpensive.

I don't think there's much usage for 144hz monitors for Dota 2 though, those are mainly for FPS games, aren't they?

I have this monitor colours are fantastic was very well factory calibrated. I used to use a 120hz asus but wanted to upgrade to an ips panel and this was the fastest i could find.  I had a dell 27 ips for a while but the lag was too noticeable. This monitor is great for gaming while maintaining good colour accuracy and viewing angles.

Well, it depends what type of player you are..   If you are down in the lanes scrutinizing every detail, trying to dodge and get every last hit...  the 144hz will give you an edge because it updates faster..

IPS doesn't begin to approach the speed of TN.. even if you get an Overclocked IPS...

But the 144hz or 120hz ones are hilariously overpriced here. I remember checking ASUS VG248Q is 300$ in US, but its about 500$ AUD in Australia. -_- My budget is 350$ only. T_T

Id say 120hz does provide you with more visual information as you are getting twice the framerate. But the forris is a great tradeoff for visual quality in a gaming monitor with no noticable lag. You can read the review of the monitor on the prad website.

let us know what you think once you get it, and how it compares to your samsung.  Also it will probably come pre set to ECO mode, switch it to USER 1 or USER 2 and it will look way, way better.

Cheap strategy, marking them on sale today, and then preorder the next day. Zzzz
