I'm curious because the potential for something bad to happen seems high. In my opinion, a safe way to do it would be to send each other funds of a equal amount worth the item as goods. For example I traded you a mint gum CC and you traded me a hardcore white or something. We send each other payments worth the value of the caps, let's say $90 for hypothetical purposes so that paypal has the exchange covered and ship it out to each other. That way the playing field is equal thus significantly reducing the risk of getting scammed. How do you make trades?

That's hogwash the way I explained above seems very safe and at least you have Buyer protection (which we know trumps seller). You can invoice each other the same amount of money... and then cross ship
If one person does not get the item, it would violate the sale and you can complain to your CC/paypal and get your money back.

If you do it through ebay.. you can complain to ebay, their "insurance" covers your losses because they get a "cut" of your proceeds.

I am scared of getting scammed, but I shouldn't be stripped of the priviledge of trading CCs because of it!!! tp seems to agree with me. That is THE SAFEST way to trade. It should be logical. Give paypal money and ensure you get your stuff. Is it wrong to ask for some security in the high value items I'm trading away? I work VERY hard for my money, I'm not gonna piss it away on some ***** that doesn't want to work and scam people.

I don't think you need a whole bunch of other people validating how you would conduct a trade.

Most of the people you would trade CC's with, have quite a few posts on this forum. If they try to scam you, post about it here, we will bury them.

That's interesting, do they have some sort of secure trading service? I'll have to look at the site. When I ask about other trading methods I'm curious if there is one out there that doesnt include fees or as high of fees. Paypal is the only thing that came to mind so yes, I wanted to validate the most appropriate and safest way to do it. If there are other alternatives I'd really like to know. I don't know rowdy and I don't mean to incriminate anyone by saying I don't trust them but that's supposably happening and I apologize. I don't mean to do that to anyone, I really just am curious how others have done this.

I say hop on the IRC and got to know some people, spend time here. Attend a meetup if possible, I went to two. There are quite a few people on this forum that personaly know each-other. More so than anywhere else, that goes a long way.

It's easy they send me piles of money and I send them stuff....
The best advice anyone has given me (demik actually) if the deal doesn't feel right then walk away.
I once had a 0 poster offer a way higher than expected price for something and the few PM's I got were really weird so what did I do....nothing, never heard from them again.
I've also stalked new posters using their emails etc to see if they were real people. I even emailed one at their work email just for verification.
If people want to trade you can ask for information to verify they are legit and if you ship USPS and print labels online tracking is included.
Just use some common sense. If someone wants what you have bad enough they will jump through hoops, they don't have to like it :p
But no reason to give paypal needless fees etc either 8)

Invoice is always more secure.
But, in general I don't bother forcing sellers into doing the invoice thing for items under $500... It's unlikely that people try to steal so little money..

The "barter" concept of trade revolves around money not being part of the equation.
If there is insufficient trust to trade, then just sell goods and services for money like everybody else.
This forum is a good place for friendly, low-key transactions, and scams are rare here, but ebay has established mechanisms to enforce honesty.

You could also use a trusted middleman -> You both send your goods to the middleman. Once they're both received he/she will send them to the new owners.

In my book a trade should be initiated, if there is trust between the two people.
I prefer to trade, to skip wasting 10% of the total funds of mine and the other person's in paying PayPal.

If you have good credit, or are in good standing with the CC company/bank... Using the dual invoice method will guarantee you would at least get your money back should someone try to stiff you... (http://www.cute-factor.com/images/smilies/onion/th_113_.gif)
You decide the item you want to trade with the opposite party
He invoices you for x mount of money, You invoice him for y amount of money.
Both of you pay.
If one of you doesn't get the item.. The CC will get your money back..
