WHat's the difference between pbb and plate mounted?
$0.49 a switch when you order 100. AND free shipping! That's a really good deal. :thumb:Note: these are all PCB-mounted MX Clear switches.

PCB mounted had two little stems to secure the switch to the PCB and plate mount does not. If you need plate mount, you can just cut off the stems on PCB mount and they will work.
Yes, you are correct. You can mount these switches onto a PCB as is or you can snip off or trim the plastic pointy things at the bottom and mount them to a plate.
hum, 17$ shipping to Canada, even for 5... sniff!Amoritize that over a hundred, and it gets less painful per switch?

There are 2 connectors on the plate mounted but 6 on the pcb mounted (two of which are plastic). What are the other two metal prongs for on the pcb mounted switch? I was guessing they got soldered onto the pcb, but that was just a guess.

Those are diodes inserted into the switch, I think. They are not a feature of a pcb-mounted switch. Plate-mounted switches have holes for those diodes as well.

Yea, but I already have 200 vintage blacks that I have yet to use (have plans for them, but on the long run). I just wanted to get a few to try them before going for 100.
All I can say is, they better have 'em when my next paycheck rolls around. Those are going on my Ergodox -- oh wait (http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=537), MK has the PCBs for that, too!
Just need a case from somewhere and I can quit this silly forum.
Oh yes, I should update! I received my switches very quickly. They have no diodes in them and are just standard PCB-mounted variety (so you can trim the plastic pieces at the bottom and plate-mount if you'd like.) Came packed really well in a sturdy box :thumb:
Received mine. I was thinking, a set of 110 (like the Matias switches are) would probably be better, to at least fill a fullsize keyboard. Though, TBH, it seems most people are doing TKL or less these days anyway, so...

I had to put diodes back in the switches for my kmac and phantom, and it was really annoying.
Hi Dorkvader
I'm not quite understanding what you had to do.
What is the purpose of a diode?
Does it have anything to do with LEDs?
And what about LED keyboards? Do they use different kinds of cherry switches with holes for you to insert the LEDs?I had to put diodes back in the switches for my kmac and phantom, and it was really annoying.
