I don't see why most automakers seem to feel the need to make their electric vehicles so friggin UGLY!

No wonder why nobody wants to drive an electric car. Why would somebody want to pay extra money to drive around looking like a dope?
-
The big oil companies probably paid off the car manufacturers to make the electric cars so ugly nobody would ever want to buy them.

Once upon a time, some nice person said to himself "What if we make a slightly less penguin-killing vehicle?". One not so nice man heard him and walked towards him, and nicely fell into a tank of cocaine, and killed the nice man with a pez dispenser and claimed the idea as his own. He showed the sketches the dead nice man finished by smashing his head with the tablet pen lodged in his forehead when he died to some people which were supposed to be there, but ran away when the bad man killed someone with a pez dispenser.
This happens 12439 times per hour, all 786 days a month, 50 months every year. Stop this rampaging violence. #ECARS2013

Speaking of electric cars....
-
They make cheaper cars ugly on purpose... it's called, product differentiation...
It's the same reason why most manufacturers have a Luxury Moniker, and a Plebian moniker..
Toyota has Lexus, Nissan has Infinity, Wolkswagon BMW
How do you sell "the same keyboard" to a bunch of people that already has them...
Well..... You create the market for "luxury" keyboards... "the gamer" tags is the same.

Boss just bought one and the car is gorgeous. But being from so cal and having all these fake tree hugging hippies that want to go electric the car lost its wow factor for me.
You see these cars everywhere now.
-
It depends on the price bracket you're looking at... You get what you pay for.
Both these cars are already out in the market.

That Bum-W I8 is hideous!

God damn you yanks made the sexiest cars in the mid to late 60's that the world still recognizes and loves.
The Barracuda's (Hemi's), Shelby GT500, Impala SS, Dodge Charger RT, Plymouth Roadrunner, Chevelle SS 396, Pontiac GTO and what about any version of Sting-Ray's. You guys actually made cars back then that gave every man alive, an extreme hard-on for these babies.
What's produced from your (all over the world) factories now is lame, limp, androgynous rubbish with no soul, that is so horrible looking no man wants to be seen sitting anywhere inside these vehicles let alone announce to the world that they actually paid for it.
I'm just glad I still have a punished Landcruiser that still can be used to haul junk about, but the electric cars, really means nothing to any man - still alive on this planet.
-
IMO, the Fisker is hideous. Yeah, it looks like nothing else, but not in a good way. And yes, I've seen one in person.
From what I understand, it was slow given the rated horsepower, cramped for its size, the electric range was abysmal, and the total economy of operation, especially once it dropped into petrol mode, was pretty anemic for a car trying to have eco-credentials. ISTR hearing the real-world was that your fuel costs were comparable to a ~40MPG petrol sedan.
People like to come up with a lot of excuses for Fisker's fate-- "it's cos it was electric", "it's cos the government invested"... the real reason they failed: they built a tech demo, not an car people would enjoy using as such.
