Title: The BF4 thread!
Post by: The_Beast on Tue, 29 October 2013, 03:25:34
Lets hear what you guys are thinking about the game so far! What do you like or hate about the game? What's your favorite weapon and setups? And just have a general discussion about the game.

Also, anyone interested in all joining the same server now that the game has decent in-game VOIP?

Mine is in the mail, should arrive hopefully tomorrow.

Like always I'll be running the Engineer kit primarily. Someone has to take out those pesky tanks.. And once I unlock the A-91 I imagine that's what I'll be using mostly.

I buy all my games as physical copies. Always have, always will. I still go to the record store and buy CD's, too. Weird huh?

And I've bought BF4 for both PC and PS3.

I don't find it weird, I like physical copies, although I generally only pick up special copies, such as limited edition etc.

The attack boats are pretty damn fun. I joined late into a round and got 9,000 points from just boating and unlocked nearly 1/2 of the total unlocks for it.

Also, they are called power weapons for a reason. The USAS12 isn't that great, but those sniper rifles, with the right position, you should be able to pick up at least 10 kills.

That brings me onto normal, non-power sniper rifles. They are all pretty damn good. Since if you hit someone and someone else kills them you still get credit for the kill, which makes getting "kills" much easier.

Carbines are great, and all class so a support with the ARW is pretty damn effective and you're not constantly running out of ammo (I'm finding supports to be the least used class ATM)

Hopefully tonight I get a few more unlocks cause right now I have the first shot gun, 2 carbines, 2 snipers unlocked, 2 PDWs, and 2 assault rifles. I picked up and AEK, but didn't get to hang onto it long. It still seemed like the ACW is the best weapon in the game (it seemed like it was in beta or the AK 5C)

Battlefield 3.2 - Now with worse optimisation, more gimmicks, worse maps, and more lag!

Ammo is going to be an issue since most people will be running Assault, as always. The ammo perk is extremely important now. Even if there are Support guys, you usually have to chase them around for ammo.

And yeah that ACW was great in the beta. Just mows through ammo quickly, and I believe the ammo clip glitch is still present. I'd prefer it to stay that was as it adds to realism and strategy, but kids these days.

It's mostly the new perk system. If ammo were the first perk of one of them, that would be the one I would go with. But of course, most of the first ones are dumb, like sprint....

Very interesting that you say Sprint. It was my most used perk in Battlefield 3. The game felt so much better with it. I'd rather have that than an extra nade.

Ammo > all other perks

I either shoot too much (unlikely since I have like a 20% accuracy) or stay alive too long that I need double ammo

I just prefer to find ammo laid around on the map. I can usually find a few good sources. And besides, I always play with my can, and we always have someone running support. So our perks (in BF3) would be sprint, grenade, suppression and explosives.
