AFAIK This is one of the lowest prices on the T1. When they used to have regular low prices on the T1 on Amazon I'm pretty sure it didn't go below $900.

If someone buys that who does not own all Topre boards, they need to get their priorities straight. :)

Just going to rant a little about expensive (>$300) headphones:
I don't think it's wise to spend that much for headphones that are such a small upgrade over much cheaper headphones when headphone by design, are much inferior to large speakers in terms of sound quality for the same price. The only situation in which paying that much for better headphone sound quality would be a logical choice would be is if you absolutely had to have headphones and not speakers.

Wow and 19 people have already bought a pair. $16k worth of headphones, that's nuts.
(Obvious audio noob)

I have a pair of $1400 UE11 pros. They're super expensive and way more than what most people pay for head phones. But you know what? I've used them every day, almost all day for the last 5 or so years. Why shouldn't something I use that much be really nice? Also, nothing else would block out the sound of a data center as much as they do.

Ultimate Ears makes some crazy expensive, and crazy good custom fitted earbuds. I was considering a set a while back. Might go for it sooner or later.

You don't regret the purchase.
But that's kinda what I mean in regards to this: some people spend $2000 on a TV. I don't watch TV, I work and listen to music. It's all about perspective.

Your case is special since you need headphones, not speakers. If someone doesn't care which they purchase and will get the same amount of use out of either, they should go with speakers.

Yikes , its a tough choice between this and a KMAC

I'll make it easy and sell you my KMAC for $800. You'll save $50 so it's a better deal.
Looks like this deal is dead. Massdrop only had 20, and 18 were sold by the time I got home last night.

$850? Jesus no.

Wow such a snag, somebody buy it quick

$850 is a steal for a new pair of beyer T1s, but they did not impress me at all when I tried them at the spring NY head-fi meet.

I guess this counts as a steal for an audiophile
