Was told by someone at Deck that these should be available state side by the end of the year.
Per a translated Korean BBS - these are indeed doubleshot keycaps.
They would certainly have to be to compete against the backlit juggernaught Ducky.
(off topic) Hey Dante, noticed your avatar. Did you get your NMB with Black Space Invaders?
There is something here that REALLY worries me.
Deck are known to have the BEST backlit friendly Keycaps by using PBTShow Image(http://i48.tinypic.com/2zz7rx5.jpg)
The Francium artwork got THIS
(Attachment Link)
Which really looks like coated ABS.
I hope Deck didn't chose to go the Cheap way. Because quality keycap what made Deck so special to me.
Stay tuned
How much of a nerd are you when you get excited because you thought the title said 'Francium for sale on ebay'?
does anyone else make backlit PBT with a more professional-looking legend?
what's so special about these keyboards??
I am sorry first of all these were mass produced in our facility in China so we are not holding any raw components. Also, the nature of our business is to sell keyboards we do not sell components.
I thought they were Deck's quality and good looking. Two concepts that couldn't be put in the same sentence before.http://mechkb.tumblr.com/post/59664045773/our-stock-of-deck-hassiums-are-genuine-pbt-doubleshot
But it seems that Deck dropped one to get closer to the other. :(what's so special about these keyboards??

Doubleshot PBT backlit, you say?
Goddammit, I need these to come to the US.
Deck always had them.

I wouldn't necessarily consider the older Deck keys true doubleshots, because it was a general area shot then painted over, not the character itself shot. Because the originals were painted over, it seems like they would wear out faster.
Well stop typing on the edges! :D
That's the thing. Except for the spacebar, I don't.
I don't even use the Macro key shown on the picture.
I think Cooler Master uses self destructing biodegradable material. Which I find very noble of them. If all other garbages were made that way, the planet would be less polluted.Well stop typing on the edges! :D
Backlit double shot is the future....
Although backlit in general is silly.. because you should never be typing in such dimly lit-situations anyway..
Sure.
But not all brands makes them good.

Hey everyone, I feel I should clarify some of the details in this thread.
1) Indeed there is a Deck Francium. We actually had some prototypes in the office. We did not announce it at the time because Deck was unsure if they would 'skip' over it in favour of another TKL model. I guess now that it's starting to appear here and there, there's no harm acknowledging it.
2) The US ANSI Deck Hassiums do use DS-PBT as seen in our picture. However, we have it on good accounts that the Korean versions of Hassium used ABS since the molding process could not be quickly / cheaply adapted to different fonts (i.e. non-deck font, Hangul layout). This may have changed, we are not experts in the Korean market so the only way to know for sure is if someone gets word from Deck or some gets their hands on one.
3) Ducky Shine key caps were not used in our experiment, the black 'outline' is the left-overs from the Mionix ABS which seeped onto the tissue. We did not use a Ducky Shine key cap in our tests but I doubt the result would be much different from the Mionix ABS since the material should be the same.
Any questions, let me know. I will do my best to answer.

Do you know if the US Franciums have the Thick PBT Doubleshots like the Hassiums?
<snip>
About how much will it cost in the USA?

The US is not our area of responsibility so I cannot tell you for sure. Having said that, our ANSI Franciums came with the same thick DS-PBT that the Hassiums have. So I have every reason to assume the answer will be yes.

I just received very comforting information from someone at TG3.
"the plan is to have Francium and Hassium available in the US by Thanksgiving"
"Regarding the keycaps, some foreign models are using the cheaper lower quality keycaps. The ones that we will be selling are top of the line"
"We actually made a change from our old keycaps, but it is to an even higher quality. Instead of the PBT with dye sublimation, which resulted in light leakage as well as the “raised” edges, we are now using a true two-shot backlit PBT. A review of the keycaps we will be using is here: http://mechkb.tumblr.com/post/59664045773/our-stock-of-deck-hassiums-are-genuine-pbt-doubleshot"
I'm extremely happy to read this. Looks like Deck took the best and made it even better!
I can't wait to get one of each in my collection.
AWESOME!!!
Shouldn't be a big problem for the Legends Frost or Ice Tactile...
Can we buy only the caps? I want that pbt goodness :thumb:
Was told by someone at Deck that these should be available state side by the end of the year.
CRAP... I should of wait then.

Finally :-)
And the BIG news thread from Deck also gives prices and where to buy.
I have a very big hug to give to the mechkb.com folks in Australia who were holding a Francium for me and were welling to facilitate a shipping oversea. I now know it will be a lot easier to get it locally from Amazon.
Do they have costar or cherry stabilizers? What kind of profile do the keycaps have that come with these boards?
So can someone explain to me what "Hassium" and "Francium" are? Besides just having the backlit board with pbt doubleshot keys, are these boards really good? How do they compare to the filco? Do they have costar or cherry stabilizers? What kind of profile do the keycaps have that come with these boards? I ask because I'm right about to buy a filco (or maybe a QFR) and a set of thick IMSTO keycaps to go along with it. I had given up on getting a nice backlit board because I really wanted good caps. If this thing is going to be available to order as soon as monday, its obviously worth waiting for. I'm just trying to figure out the details. Thanks!
Hassium is element 108, and Francium is element 87. The boards are supposed to be well built and sturdy, about the same as Filco, I'd surmise. IMSTO caps will definitely be better, but that's true for anything. Honestly, the Vortex keycaps are much better in my opinion, and they've got designs of double-shot PBT backlight-friendly keys on the way, with a less disgusting font. I just think that you'd hate looking at it, and if you're going to replace the keycaps there is no reason to get this board, considering that they aren't even offering Clears or Reds on their boards (reference their recently started thread) and Filcos are definitely on par with quality and not nearly as overpriced.

Just want to clarify that we are offering red switches.
This is so biased I don't even know where to begin.
Do you own either the Francium/Hassium that is being released out of the US? It's supposed to have much better keycaps than the one out of Asia. And since it's not released yet I'm curious how you can judge it being better/worse than others?
Vortex can eat a bag of ****s. In the early days they screwed iMav several times, are terrible at communication, and have generally poor product. One of their first keysets had a key that was incorrect (backslash pipe.) Who the F*** does that? As far as upcoming double shot set - who cares.
Finally, Filco is "definitely on par with quality and not nearl as over priced." Again, do you own a Francium/Hassium to judge? And why aren't you complaining that the Filco doesn't have Clears since it was your complaint about the Deck?
The more I read your post the more I think you are trolling or you work/sell for Vortex.
Yes the font isn't what you hoped for - boo hoo - go be butt hurt somewhere else.
I know exactly the keycaps used on the Francium/Hassium, and I know exactly that they are thin PBT DS, different from the Korean ABS.
There seems to be a lot of repressed butthurt about Vortex from you, but their products are not overpriced, and they listen to the community, as can be seen by their recent creation of the inverted mod set and changing of fonts. I don't think that Deck has changed their font, ever. Obviously you don't care, because you're incredibly in love with the Deck. Kudos.
I'm not really in the mood to argue with someone who accuses others of being butthurt, because I never blew $200+ dollars to get a keyboard with font uglier than Razer's.
Prices on Amazon will range from $148 - $173 depending on which board selection, LED's and switch types.

Without weighing in on the conversation, I've gotta tell you this got a laugh outta me. Not because of the dollar amount, but because it's my main issue with these caps, as beautiful as the board/caps are otherwise.

I have yet to find someone who likes Deck's font.
Deck's are to fonts what Buckley is to cough syrup "It Tastes Awful. And It Works." a slogan, which became, and still is, very successful.... a keyboard with font uglier than Razer's.

Man if it wasn't for those damn "gamer blue" leds. I'd be all over it. I might order one anyway.
