Title: Exposed switches
Post by: Smapti on Sat, 09 November 2013, 18:45:37
So I am severely digging the aesthetics of the exposed switches on the Corsair boards (http://media.pcgamer.com/files/2013/03/corsair.jpg). I also found the Flashget G600, which looks pretty cool except for the cheap-looking case (http://img.banggood.com/thumb/view/upload/2012/jiangjunchao/%20SKU080936-(5).JPG). Anyone know of any others out there or coming soon?

There is a review and discussion of the Flashget here (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=47262.0).

Thanks, I did see the review and I'm leaning towards the Flashget based on bang for buck. I'm about to make the purchase (and kicking myself for missing the 10% off coupon code from last month), but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a board out there.

I hadn't even considered a custom case. I haven't attempted customization beyond keycaps, maybe it's time to take the next step if a case swap isn't too advanced? I'm sure GH has all the tutorials I would need and I'll definitely be looking into it, maybe for my Race. Thanks for the replies!

Well, for case swaps, you have to make sure your PCB/plate is compatible.

If your aesthetic is more steampunk than minimalist, you could go the Model F route.

This has some interesting steampunkish keyboards (http://walyou.com/steampunk-keyboards/). Some are kinda craptastic, but others look awesome
