Post by: tp4tissue on Sun, 10 November 2013, 21:43:04
In the space video.. the cosmonaut waved it around.. it didn't look lit.. was it suppose to be lit.. are they going to do that later?

why didn't they light it... waste oxygen?

There isn't any oxygen in space.  How would it burn?

They did not light it inside the ISS because it would use up too much oxygen and pose a risk for the astronauts.

Would have been cool if they strapped an oxygen cylinder to it along with like a space suit helmet around the top so they could light it outside in space.

I had originally thought "this was the point"... ^^^^

It make no sense that they'd go through so much trouble to bring it to space.. then not light it... I guess it must've been only an "after-thought" part of a regular mission that had nothing to do with the olympix.
