Title: Good place to buy replacement "translucent" kepcaps?
Post by: Doppelganger on Fri, 15 November 2013, 12:13:37
I just picked up a new board and would like to experiment with some ABS WASD keys for the backlighting. I've seen solid replacement ones everywhere, but were can I find see-through keys for the LED's to shine through the letter print?  I don't need a whole set, just WASD  :)

That looks like a great place for keyboard customization, thank you for the link  :)  I could see going a little wild with the keyboard thing with all of these options lol

Nice, more options! Quick question about these replacement keys - I was changing out the WASD keycaps to the red ones for my backlit keys (Ducky with Cherry Browns) and they were pretty hard to press onto the board. I really had to give it some pressure to get them all the way on. I felt like I was going to damage it! Is that a concern, or is that completely normal? Could I damage something changing out key caps pressing to hard?

Some are too loose to get on, some are too tight.

Just be careful when you try to take them off.

VERY CAREFUL! (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=51009.0)

they're honestly quite over rated...

very good for a "show case" board.. but it becomes DISGUSTING if you actually use it..

There's a full set on Signature Plastic's site (http://www.keycapsdirect.com/marketplace.php) in addition to their pimpmykeyboard site.
