I bought a few keycaps (sc2) from feng's ebay when I assumed that I would be able to find thick pbt in OEM. After a few days of searching for that, I gave up and purchased the cherry profile thick pbt blank blues. These OEM novelty caps are for top row, but they'll look really odd next to the blank blue cherry caps, right? I've looked all over for cherry sc2 caps but I can't find any. As a matter of fact, all of the novelty caps I've found are OEM. The majority of this forum has told me that cherry is better, so why are all of these novelty caps made exclusively OEM?

I think it may have something to do with OEM being the dominant, most produced profile. Also, feng's novelty keycaps are made in China, where most people use OEM profile.
Cherry profile is just popular with us enthusiasts.

What? Spamming tonight?

are you willing to live with ugly fonts, fewer color options, and maybe less thick caps? I think the vortex ones might work for you.
personally, i LOVE the height of CC skulls next to DSA caps. it makes them standout; i have a hard time hating that.

I assume you're trying to be funny with that :)
Not sure if your keycaps have profiles lol

No joke. All of my keys are Cherry profile. The sculpts will alter the height slightly but the dimensions of the keycap base are Cherry.

Most novelty keycaps from Techkeys.us, Keypop.net, etc. are made my SP in their DCS profile, which is similar in height to Cherry cylindrical profile, and lower in profile than most OEM keycaps.

I don't use my novelty caps because they don't match the Cherry or OEM profiles...Guess I'm just a tad OCD.

I'm curious about something. I ordered a few caps like these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Terran-PBT-R4-Cherry-MX-Keycap-/231072023134?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35ccf7425e (from feng - one of which was this cap). If I put them on numbers I frequently use - will it wear away quickly? Or will it last just as long as any other laser etched key (not forever but a long time)?

Any of the PBT caps that IMSTO sells are cherry profile.
