looks great not clear, matte surface no finger/palm prints

Consider that most people wouldn't buy it if it was any more expensive than it is now. Anyways, who even needs the full hand? What kind of typist rests his hands when he types?

Of course you should - otherwise you will forever be wondering ;)

I cannot as my finances are depleted (again).

I was actually informed that not resting the hands is a better idea, and that makes a lot of sense, because you aren't placing your weight on your wrists. I never get any pain in my wrists from floating, which I used to get while resting, and I can also move my fingers much more easily.
There's no reason that resting your wrist should be good, because then you're applying more strain on your hand than just the keypresses.

Hmm, strange. I've never had RSI issues or anything of the sort, but just trying it out now, there's far more tension in my wrist when they're not resting. Actually typing like that is far more strenuous than just using my fingers to type while my wrists are on my tray.

(edit) - Could also be because of my arm rests from my chair are taking a good chunk of the weight off my wrists. Working without an arm rest would be a nightmare methinks.

I have something akin to RSI; whenever I type at my normal pace (over 120) for long periods, my fingers themselves feel swollen and heavy. These days' I've been practicing a little less because of that. When typing for comfort, I like to use the rests on my chairs for my elbows, but it does slow me down by anchoring me. My right arm moves a decent bid to the bottom row on Dvorak, and therefore I keep my right thumb off the spacebar to free it up. My left hand can be doing pretty much whatever, as it pretty much doesn't move.

Perhaps it's because I try to put my weight on my arms when I type, by always keeping my arms up. I keep my board at a good height, though, so it's never tiring.
I agree that when I'm not going at my maximum speed, resting is preferable. Still not sure if it's better for the wrist or not, though. Never had any problems myself either way.

I just assembled an ErgoDox from local sources...
Well, at least I can choose my case color (matte acrylic)  ;D
Also, I use plastic screws instead of metal ones, no worry for rusting  ;D

[attach=1]

Unfortunately, I have put the I/O expander in the wrong way, so I only got functional right part  :'(
Working on desoldering the IC. Hopefully I don't need to use the spare PCB and other parts...

Not to mention I still haven't got my one from 4th round... I think the one I'm organising will be done quicker even though I just ordered stuff recently...

well.. I'm certain if an Egdx buy is the "Only" one you organize, it'd be faster than massdrop. Since, they have other things to do on top.

It's very considerate of them to start another massdrop and taking people's money... before even delivering the keyboards from the last order.

At this rate, I'll be surprised if I get mine before the new year.

Not really I placed order for 40 PCBs and I already have materials for 20 cases which will be cut after I get the PCBs, so it's certainly not the one Ergodox, and I hope I'll help some impatient people like me :)

I wish they made it possible to buy only certain parts as in the first/second one.

Speaking of that, is it possible to get only 1.5x and 2x PBT keycaps somewhere?

You can get those at SP, at 1usd per cap. Colors and profile is limited to what they have on hand atm.

honestly,, just go abs and buy the 2x-size num-pad enterkey from wasd keyboards.. .. if you're gonna get anything OTHER than black.. then there's ZERO difference between pbt and abs... because shine doesn't look bad on "bright color" caps..

It really only matters if you got BLACK caps.

The plastic screws matches the case really well

Thanks, I found some anodized aluminum M3 screws with variety of colors, which may be fun for further customizing the ErgoDox...

Thank you!!
And I finally make my left hand side working. After trying solder-wick, solder sucker, flux, and hot air gun... a really painful process, but it is working now!!
Next step: optimizing the layout
