Wait, does that mean that you already tried switching into PS/2?

Have you tried a keyboard that has PS/2 plug natively? I mean the ones that you don't have to go through some adapter.

Upon simple googling at you motherboard model I read that it is an Asus brand. To me, I have had nothing but issues with Asus motherboards, specifically at their PS/2 ports failing to detect keyboard properly. I do not recall if I had a USB keyboard at the time but if you happen to have a keyboard with PS/2 plug and that does not work then it could be a sign you are facing the same set of issue that I once have had. I recall two Asus motherboards that I had with the exact same issue. Also the keyboard was working fine elsewhere just not on the Asus motherboard for some reason.

i agree asus has issues with ps/2

But, I can't get away from their intuitive OC experience... With most other boards I have had to fight the bios much more.. this is from p67 on... (http://www.cute-factor.com/images/smilies/onion/d16c4689.gif)
