Title: Filco and lack of UK vendors.
Post by: Fragil1ty on Sun, 24 November 2013, 10:22:24
Hey guys,

Long story short, I've recently bought another Keycool 84 (white w/ browns), don't like the browns, prefer reds, so I'm going to buy a Filco with Reds.
I'm going away from the tradtional 80% boards and just going for a standard tenkeyless board.

I've heard great things about Filco boards, the build quality, how long they last and so on and so forth (the only downside I've heard is the cost).

Because I live in England, this is really my only source to buy a Filco from unless I want to buy from Ebay/Amazon and get them shipped from overseas, which is something I really do not want to do.

The only gripe I'm having at the moment is the keyboard that I want does not have any kind of lettering on the top of it, it has it on the side.

I cannot seem to find the model that I want anywhere, unfortunately.

Any advice?

I would recommend ANSI though... If you want aftermarket keycaps they will be easier to find.

Thanks man, you're a life-saver.
Yeah I'll definitely be buying the US version and what not.

You can also get them from kustompcs.co.uk though they get them from thekeyboardco and charge more for delivery. There are some on Amazon both from thekeyboardco and amazon themselves if you look hard enough. I got my current Filco as well as a full blank keyset from thekeyboardco and will probably be placing another order shortly, this time for a TKL and some o-rings so I can use it in the office and not annoy co-workers too much.

haha, I know what you mean my man, I've put some o-rings on my current brown keycool, it does help an awful lot with the sound dampening, I  must admit!
The feel isn't too bad either, I think it just takes a bit of time to get used to it in all fairness!

Thanks for the help/heads up though guys! Much appreciated.
