Title: need pic of buckling rubber sleeves in ibm's quiet touch board

title says it all; i'm wondering if those buckling rubber sleeves can be placed around the springs in regular buckling springs (thus contributing some kind of muting effect but still combining in some way with the existing spring?).  what do you think?

Also, do you think this might add too much resistance?

The "buckling rubber sleeves" are in the M4 series of keyboards.  Those are extremely short throw (compared to the Model M's).  I don't think they are of the right dimensions to be useful at all in a Model M.

Quiet touch M's don't use these.  They use a rubber dome sheet that lays over the entire set of membrane sheets.

thanks for the deets imav. You're right, the rubber sleeve looks way too thick and fat to be useful around the regular springs...
