Title: Originative 67g limited
Post by: AuRinBei on Tue, 03 December 2013, 18:09:37
Does anyone have these? I see a lot of talk about the 62g springs, but not so much the 67 or 65g springs. Personally, I'm looking for a good middle ground between black springs and the lighter cherry springs. My weak-ass pinky can't deal with a heavy shift when gaming.

I have both 65 and 67. I probably prefer 65. The 67 feels too hard to press sometimes when I'm cold or not feeling like a keyboard warrior. I actually have an mix between 67,65,60 and mx black springs on my poker. Its quite nice. What switch are you using the springs with?

Black. Black is fine for the most part, except for when I've got a lot of pinky action going when gaming. I prefer heavier switches for typing though.

Doesn't that make them very similar to stock clears?

Aren't stock clears closer to 85g on the korean scale?  I think they are about 65g on the cherry scale though.  Nubbinator, is this right in your experience?

Can someone even feel the diff between 65 and 67g?

Nope.  They're still much lighter.  Clear springs are a little heavier than 80g Korean springs.

Yup, you are correct.  They're definitely lighter than stock Clear spings.

Can someone even feel the diff between 65 and 67g?

It's subtle, but yes, you can.  I've tried 65g and 67g spings in Clears and the 67g springs feel a little nicer.  You definitely feel a difference in the bump and the return.

I tested with some springs and here are my results :

Originative Limited 55g << Stock Cherry MX Red Spring << Originative Limited 62g<< Originative 65g << Originative Limited 67g << Stock Cherry MX Black Spring

I don't think we should put Cherry Clear into the comparison due to its special structure (short and low number of rounds). Cherry MX Clear spring may create a very different feeling, very stiff of force, light when entering to actuation point but very high when bottoming out.

I'm stuck between 65 and 67 springs. 65 might be to close to brown springs. I usually think they are a tad too light. So, I think 67 will be better if I mod some clear stems.

Looking at some of the graphs comparing regular chair springs and originative springs.  It looks as if the originative springs have a slightly steeper force curve.  Not to the extent of the stock clears, but on the graphs I was noticing the difference in angle.  Is this difference noticeable when using those springs?  I feel like a steeper curve would be nicer in most of the switches I like.
