I am planning on purchasing a a IBM model M. I need it to work with a PS2/USB connector. The two keyboards that I can purchase are:
IBM 1394167 (5 wire RJ11 connector, 122 keys)
[attach=2]
IBM 1394308 (RJ45 connector, apparently fits IBM 3476 or IBM 3477 terminals)
[attach=1]
If one of these can work with a modern PC, what sort of connector do I need?
Sorry if this is posted in wrong area, first post here

Hi and welcome to geekhack!
Both of those terminal model Ms will not work with a modern PC
The protocols, however, have been converted. The "soarer" code running on a teensy will do the trick for you.
here's the topic:

Look out for Model Ms with rubber domes.

My friend, as a happy Model M user, I can reassure you that they all work with a Soarer. Really recommend you get one. That way, the Model M will become USB plug and play, and all the extra function keys (Which normally don't work in Windows) will be programmable and you can use them to execute macros or control sound volume.
Really, Soarer is like God around here. I can't imagine how much good he has done for us by creating that converter of his (And he's great with tech help as well!)

Are those the only two you can get?
