Title: Admitting you have a problem is the first step
Post by: metalliqaz on Thu, 05 December 2013, 08:12:08
This is the thread in which you admit you have a wallet problem.  I'll go first...

Credit card for November came today.  I just realized I bought four keyboards in one month, one of them Korean.  And this just one month after buying a Realforce and financing my own custom pad.

Ouch, dudes.

This is why I'm glad there's a $300 limit on my card...

This is why I'm glad I no longer own a credit card.

FTFY. The way I look at things now is if I can't save up for it then I obviously don't want it that much. Means I've bought a lot less useless crap over the last couple of years since getting rid of mine.

I'm with bueller. My credit is so far gone, that I don't even bother applying.

All keyboards and accessories have been purchased with cash.

Buying only what you are able to pay for.

I never carry credit on my card.  I pay off every bill at the end of the month.  Using the card in this way is very convenient, doesn't get me in trouble, and lets me easily track how I spend my money.  So I have the money, I just spend a little too much of it on clicky things.

^^ +1 exactly this.....except my wife spends too much of it....what I spend is menial in comparison

I've never carried a balance over in the many, many years of having credit cards....

Actually I have a credit card only I use...then there is another one we both use but I rarely use it so it's mostly her spending....

I thought this thread was about admitting you have a keyboard problem - and I came here ready to admit it. But now I'll never admit it. NEVER!

I am with jd and bueller.  I have not had a credit card since 2006.  I have gotten used to the fact that if I don't have the cash for something, I don't get it.

Dropped $600 cash on keyboards and accessories in my first month. Had to do Christmas presents so taking a short break but then back to keyboards!

Not just keyboards, everything. Grew up poor as **** so whenever I get 'big' checks, some part of me always feels like I need to spend that cash into things before it disappears which I realize in retrospect is a catch 22. I'm such a bad Jew  :-[

I'm the opposite. Grew up the same way but now I feel like I need to save everything instead of enjoying a little of the money I worked hard to earn. Learning to loosen up was hard.

Lol nah :P

My credit card is for emergencies.  Also, if I forget to transfer money to my checking account (I have a debit card) then I can use my credit card without getting hit with fees.  And with a $250 limit on the credit card it's pretty easy to not use it.

You're doing it wrong demik.  One CC for hookers...one CC for blow.

I'd do that, but AMEX gives me 3% cash back on the blow and only 1% on the hookers.  Gotta get your priorities straight you know what I mean.  It's all about that cashback.

Luckily I sold a domain name for $750. Then I promptly blew it all on keyboards and keycaps.

At least my visa is paid off. :)
