Hi folks,
As I have made public recently, my duty cycle is a bit of a bridge too far for the Hakko 888D. Before I plain break the thing, I'd like to give it to someone who will have a duty cycle that is a bit more copacetic with it. It is a 115v model, and comes with about 5-6 tips, small medium and large spades, a conical and a wiper. With TLC, I suspect one of you kids could make it last a good 5 years, whereas I am almost certainly going to break it in the next 6 months. The tips are all in good shape. I have two T18-D16s that I mostly duty cycled across and the tip I have been using most lately is the T18-D32, which is a monster.
Asking 70 shipped to the CONUS. I can also ship to Canada for a little more depending on where you are. Anywhere else I'll have to quote you out on shipping.
Thanks folks!

ps, I will be moving to an Edsyn 2020 with hot air capability, for those who are curious. It will complement my 808 and family of soldapullts, which I think are perfectly sufficient for all desoldering tasks, but that may go up for grabs if I pick up an HT500 desoldering gun attachment for the 2020. Anyway, only the 888d is up for grabs right now.
Oh, I'll also toss in about 3-4 extra fitted sponges. I stocked up on them because the replacements to the original all ended up being really flimsy. I actually just started using a kitchen sponge because I was going through the things so fast :/

great price, good luck with sale on a great iron

The 888D is the official soldering iron of the D-Squad and we would highly recommend it for any size soldering projects.

also it turns out it comes with 6 (six) sponges. i have no idea what i was thinking
-
are we talking about this one or another one?
the heater, which is the most important part of a soldering iron and most expensive, has only lasted about six months in my unit. it is now starting to fail. actual temperature response is wandering literally every time i heat cycle it, the paint (yes, paint, it's not powdered) is coming off the holder, etc. i'm not a particularly happy camper with this unit. example: when i first purchased it, it took about 3-5 _seconds_ to heat to op temp. now it takes about a minute and i usually have to recalibrate it.

yes, that's why it's cheap. the OP i think makes this quite clear.
the heater, if you talk to hakko, at high cycle, is only rated to last a year.
-
Can you do any lower D:?
-
no
-
yes... the OP ... makes this quite clear.
Okey dokey I was just checking. Didnt know if you were selling a second one or not since, well, since im not very bright. Its a great price for what youre offering, but the heat up time is crucial for my application.
