Title: PS/2 to USB converter for Model M5-2 trackball?
Post by: bcg on Sat, 07 December 2013, 05:12:25
I just got a Model M5-2 from ebay... it is in amazing condition and the keys feel like they've never been typed on.  I've been wanting a trackball because of limited desk space.

Anyhow the keyboard part works fine over PS/2 cable, but the trackball does not work great at all.  When I hook it up to an active PS/2 converter it will work for a few seconds, but then not at all.  I think the trackball controller in the keyboard must not be very tolerant of any strangeness, because if I hook a regular PS/2 mouse up to the converter it works fine.

Does you guys know of a PS/2 to USB converter that would be compatible?

(also the trackball squeaks a lot when it is moved... is there some kind of lubricant I can use to alleviate that?)
