Good Day All
Just wanted to introduce myself as a new member and thank you all for the information already garnered from this fine website.
I just started a new position with CHERRY Corp CID division as a product marketing manager. I look forward to getting to know the community and getting much needed feedback from it's members on anything keyboarding and anything CHERRY.
Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you short of being Tech support.

Russm,
What sort of things can we do for you and Cherry, and what is it that you can do for us?
Most of what is appreciated with Cherry products are their official keysets and certain keyboard layouts.
Are you able to organize group purchases of authentic Cherry products with options of keycaps?
Much of what I know some people love about Cherry seems to be more vintage or costly to get outside of Germany/Russia.
Great googly moogly :o from the cherry website

Good Day
I am so new here I am not sure what I can do but we can learn together.
I have been selling HW for years but this is the first time to have a focus on keyboards and mice and it is amazing all the things I have been learning from Geeckhack.
I am currently trying to find some pricing for some clone MX switches to do a side by side comparison, so if anyone has a source please let me know.
CHERRY is still in WI for the US but corporately owned by ZF from Germany.
I have blue eyes and used to have blond hair, that's as close to German as I get.
I look forward to sharing with you any insite I can as I grow in this job and will ask a lot of questions to keep founded on the user experiance.

Click on this link (http://geekhack.org/index.php?action=profile;u=5606), then click on "personal message". You can also hit messages at the top of the site in the bar -> new messages -> type "mkawa" into the to field and then your message.

Sorry to be such a nob, trying to figure out how to PM mkawa???
Hmm, I'm starting to think this guy is a fake and a troll. He supposedly works for tech company but can't figure out how to PM mkawa? Also the word is "noob" or even "nub", but not "nob".
Why would a "noob" at Cherry Corp. be interested in GH anyway? Nobody at Cherry has ever shown any interest in us before today. GH has been around for almost 20 years. They could care less about us, the enthusiast community. We have contacted Cherry Corp. hundreds of times in the past for info, and they don't respond or care. I think they send old Cherry catalogues to webwit and those guys in Germany on DT, but that's about it.
I think this guy is full of malarkey.

No Troll just first time on this forum, a nob is a begining martial artist for your information!!
Sorry you feel the way you do but I am genuine and Cherry has a vested intrest in the professional typist and gamer. As I said I am new here and I am trying to reach out to all areas of keyboard interest and learn as much as I can , especially on the gamers end. As soon as I got here your site was reccommended to me by a co worker as one of the most informative on the web when it comes to keyboard so people at Cherry are very aware of this great site.. I look forward to proving you are wrong.

Well, you're starting off on a bad foot with me.
First, the word "nob" is a mis-spelling of "knob" which is British slang for a penis or an idiot. It has nothing to do with martial arts. I studied several martial arts, and never did anyone use the word "nob". Ever. In any language.
Second, Cherry, as a company, doesn't give a r@t's ass about the gamers. Everybody knows that. To say something different is simply not true. The only Cherry keyboard ever made that was allegedly geared for "gaming" was the Cherry MX-Board 3.0 G80-3850 with MX red switches (it also came with blues, browns or blacks). It had flatter, lower-profile keycaps, which sucked. No macro keys. No LED's. And it was kind of expensive, for being a flat, laptop-style keyboard. http://www.cherry.de/PDF/EN_CHERRY_MX-Board_3_0.pdf Basically, it was a turd, IMO.
Third, if you really are from Cherry, maybe you should tell management what you are doing. Because they may not want you representing yourself as an official spokesperson/ public liaison for the company on GH.
Fourth, if your "friend" told you about GH, then surely he told you that people here actually know a lot about keyboards, especially Cherry keyboards. And that you would be spotted as a fake almost immediately.

Maybe instead of crawling up his ass, we could, I don't know, let him be?
What's it matter if he works at cherry or not really? I get that he said that's where he worked, but does it really matter as, like you said, Cherry Corp doesn't care that GH exists and he won't be a way to get "rarez"? Or is that it? We can't get rares from him so let's welcome him with suspicion.

Thanks for the greeting! I look forward to learning from your great community!
