Post by: 127001 on Fri, 13 December 2013, 00:44:23
http://www.ebay.com/itm/171194519205

This one will probably go for more seeing as how is the much rarer blue label version and nearly brand new.

Haven't we seen a couple of these sell for well under $1K in recent months?

Haven't we seen a couple of these sell for well under $1K in recent months?

I bought an undamaged ibm options version for 600 about 3 months back. 2 of the same version, with minor frame damage, sold for 400-500. I think someone got another one with some yellowing for about 500 also.

This one is almost brand new (original packaging) and the much rarer version of it. That said I don't think there's any real physical difference besides the label. Still no number pad though...

I got the last Options model for $473 and it is clean and in fine shape with only some barrel plate dust and a bit of yellowing on the adjustment knob.

127001... Yours is the serial number 0002220? I've started building a M15 list with model, serial number, date and logo to get an idea of what's out there. 21 boards that I could find on the list so far. CC doesn't appear to have a M15 database.

That was a nice one you got :D. I probably paid a little more than what I should have for mine. I think it was one of the first ones to be sold in a while ; also I'm a bad shopper. And yeah that's the serial number. That list is a great idea. I'd like to know how many have the number pad too.

I only have one on the list with a numpad but several people here and on DA have the numpad.

A couple of years ago these were regularly selling over $1K

"Regularly" being a relative term, of course. They only turn up occasionally.

I'm wondering if it will go back up that way ever. I don't have any plans of selling and I'd imagine that most people with them feel similar. I think the supply is limited but I think demand is also kinda limited because of the price.

I was just told by a different seller that there will be another NIB M15 put on eBay after the first of the year.

I get the idea of why NIB is appealing to some but in practice I've found it not worth the premium that it demands; to hard to display and too disappointing to not be able to open. It's like a Christmas gift you'll never get to open and even if you do you just put it right back in the box.

Not everybody puts it back into storage. Some people just want a virgin to make sure that nobody else has done anything previously to mess it up.

There is a member here who really wants a Model F 122-key terminal keyboard, but will not buy it unless it is new. Good luck with that! Some of those places like "overstock-computer-parts.com" will list them as if they have them in stock, but they do not actually exist.

These never seem to have exciting endings, I always expect a show but never get one :(

That board has been on eBay for weeks and is nowhere near the condition of the one that just sold for $810.
