GH60's (http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.20.ZKeXhd&id=36383139120)
Would almost be tempted to get one of these if I didn't already have a sprit 60% paid for.
GH60 cases (http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.35.iVyJOL&id=35376228427)
Also managed to find some acrylic GH60 cases, not bad for the price. If I didn't hate acrylic cases with a passion I'd jump on that black and green one.

lolwut
i need my uncle to proxy more **** for me....
-
Woa, is that really only US $26?
-

\
its just a PCB. PCB's aren;t too expensive
-

Yeah that's pretty standard pricing for a PCB from China, the cases are the real steal in this picture.
-
now I'm really tempted. If only they had GH40 instead.....
-
wow. the cases are pretty cheap. 23 usd @_@
-
case GB time?
-
Yes, please, count me in for both pcb and case. Please. :-)
-
wounder how much a proxy will cost to ship these....also wonder if my cousin can send some too....
-
I will check with my Chinese speaking co-workers tomorrow. I was actually considering ordering PCBs from oshpark - that was silly.
-
I'll do some calculations with my proxy and figure out if its worthwhile, once you factor in proxy fees and shipping the $50 vortex case will probably be a better buy.
-
Remember that there is a bug in the Rev b layout, not sure what it is though.
-
do you know how much it would cost to ship it without proxy fees?
-

EMS shipping should be pretty cheap, probably around the $10USD mark for 3 or 4 PCB's to the US. Cases are hard to judge as I have no idea how much they would weigh.

ah that's pretty cheap that means I can get my relative to get me one if I want to go down the 60% road...

I thought the GH60 was a GH exclusive?
Not that I've been following the story that closely.

Well China is known for stealing ideas

It's open source, anyone can get boards printed provided they're happy to do their own bug fixing.
-
Why would anyone want to buy a GH60 before its finalized....just sayin...
-
Because the GB took way too long to test.

Because the GB took way too long to test.
People should know by now everything around here takes ridiculously longer than its supposed to and/or it never even happens.

Well considering there are running GH60's out in the wild if you're not going for a super unusual layout you shouldn't have any problems with Rev B. I can understand people's impatience, considering we haven't even ordered PCB's for the final revision its not like the finish line is just around the corner.
-
Hi komar, My friend wired the leds himself, but he found the blacklight dose not work and he also found the lcol14 connected with the GPIO2 in your PCB design. so he can't simply wired the leds, he cut the connection, the blacklight works fine.. is it a bug or meaning other things?
Unfortunately, this is an error:(
It will be fixed in the final revision. For rev. B, either Fn led will work or the last column of backlight:/
Cutting is not necessary with correct handling in the firmware.
-
I am confused. Here - https://github.com/komar007/ghkb/issues?labels=&milestone=1&page=1&state=closed
I do not see any remaining issues for Rev B. Or does that list have both bugs that were fixed for Rev. A and also bugs found during testing of Rev. B? I would expect items that were found during Rev. B testing to be logged and fixed under Rev. C - so that one know what exactly is not working for each revision. I personally do not care about leds at all, but is that the only bug in Rev. B?
-
so, if you don't use LEDs rev.B is okay?
I'm loathe to honor china's stolen ideas with my money, except it is supposed to be an open source design ...
if the impatient want to make a GB of this, I'll pipe up now and say maybe 50/50 chance I'll partake. Still hoping for Spirit to release his ALPS 60% though ...
-
What stolen ideas, what are you talking about? There are no stolen ideas here. The hardware is OPEN. You can't make an open design and then complain if someone uses it.
Also, the GH60 itself is not an original idea. The ANSI layout is a standard. The concept of a 60% keyboard is old as well, for example the Poker predates the genesis of the GH60 by years. Same with programmable keyboards.
-
Well the GH60 supports a large amount different layouts. i mean there are 60% korean ones out there that do the HHKB layout and other things but i think right now at this time the GH60 still has the most layout choice. The GH60 will support modules as well. I think there is some originality with the GH60 and it was pretty cheap in the GB.
This was not stolen as it is open and I don't think there is a problem with people producing the rev2 for themselves, but profiting on selling a PCB that isnt finalized yet just seems a bit like a **** move.
-
The hardware is OPEN.
Okay, but every time I've seen someone say "can I have the files" they get smacked down because "they're not ready yet" ... I've kept my eyes fairly open and wouldn't know where to get the gerber files to do this myself. Thus the concern this is somewhat below the table.
Not to mention, as has been pointed out before, China sorta seems to make entire economy decisions about not honoring copyright, although chinese "iphones" tend to stay in china.

not sure where you have seen people get shot down, komar has it pretty much there for all to see. the gerber files are on his site.

If you want the Rev B gerbers, they are here: https://github.com/komar007/ghkb
Edit: Well, technically those are KiCAD project files, but you make the gerbers from them. :)

What? The entire development process has been on github and has been open and transparent. Komar seems very pleased for people to fab their own copies.
This is open source by the way, I can;t find the license they've chosen, but I assume the copyright has turned to copyLEFT, in which case the design belongs to everyone. As in, it belongs to our Chinese friends as much as it does to us, as long as they credit the original developers.

off subject, how come that quote says i said that lol, that wasnt me. did you remove the quote inside the quote

Is the only way to contact these guys through taobao?
There is also a ghpad listed, I think as pre-order:
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=2013.1.0.0.fHrYJp&scm=1007.10009.257.0&id=36010050440

They (taobao) have the picture backwards, but at least the dedication is still there.

Yeah, I didn't mean to quote you, my mistake
-
Accidental double post...
-
for the ghpad somebody asked if they could use the design, and they were from china. could they be the same people?
-
Yes, please, count me in for both pcb and case. Please. :-)
I'd be in for a PCB or two. Maybe best to try individual orders through Qtan?
