7 Available, 19.95 USD + 6.25 shipping. (http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-M4-PS-2-84-KEY-KEYBOARD-P-N-1397451-NEW_W0QQitemZ140295159618)
I just bought one for spare parts. I'm still enjoying my M4-1, but some of the keys feel a little rough, like there's some mold lines on the stems that need trimming or something. I'll have to open it up and take a peer inside... heh.

Believe it or not, I have seven of these (all acquired NIB). Three are in use and four are still NIB.
Additionally, I have three M4-1's that are NIB. I really like the feel of the buckling rubber sleeves. They are no blue Cherry's...but they are nice.
(as soon as I saw this posting, my reaction was to go and buy one or more...until I looked over and saw the four I still have NIB) :)

I do the same thing with the Dell keyboards. I don't use the 2 I have, but I feel the need to hoarde them for some reason.

I've got four Dell AT101W's sitting here NIB. :)
My wife loves them so I feel justified in having backups for her...and it is a great keyboard to give as a gift to someone to enlighten them on what a good keyboard is like. (I've also bought new Unicomp 'boards for people in the past when I simply could not stand what they had connected to their computer).
-
What are they smoking! This is like that $6.50/free ship AT101 deal once you consider the rarity of these boards! I just snapped one up.
-
I wonder if these would be any better than the old Mitsumi buckling rubber sleeve keyboard that I have in the basement... :)
-
So I took the bait, but I'm not sure what I bought. What are these like? How would you describe the feel of the keys? Is the throw as long as a Model M? Do they click at all?

Not clicky, but then not as bad as the typical rubber domes.
I would have bought one but the picture didn't show a cable...
-
It feels like typing on a laptop keyboard, only with a slightly longer throw and significantly more resistance. It's pretty quiet but it does make some noise, so it's louder than most rubber dome keyboards you'll find. Typing on it is quite a unique experience, actually.

I just received my M4 today. It came with a new SDL cable (compatible with Model M) with a 2-metre uncoiled portion. I'll probably bundle that with a really well cleaned M I'm selling.
The key feel and layout aren't my very favourite (right Alt is way out in BFE away from my right thumb), but I think I'll keep it around. The layout is more convenient for me than my ML4100, and I like the key feel. I just need to get a bit more used to it.

Got mine last night; essentially brand new. I could see a few faint striations on the cable connector pins to indicate that it was actually hooked up to something at some point in its existence; otherwise it looks brand-spanking-new. The cable itself came in a sealed bag with a part number, so it's new. This one is a Lexmark made unit from '96, and it's a helluva lot better than the M4-1 (Unicomp '98) I bought a few weeks ago. The keys sound more uniform as you work your way from top to bottom on the board , and they don't wobble in their seatings. I'm very happy with this purchase!
-
Interesting -- what's that other port on the back of the board?
-
It's where an accessory numeric keypad plugs in. You cna buy them from Unicomp for $35 iirc.
-
I won't be needing that.
I've been using this board for the last hour and I really like it -- much better than the G84-4100.
-
Definitely a lot more convenient keyboard layout. The jury's still out on the key feel, though, at least for me.
-
My problem is that I keep hitting the Insert when I want Delete.
Did these come in black?
-
The M4-1's came in black. No idea about the M4's, never seen one.
-
How do you turn on the numlock for this thing?
-
You'll have to remap a key, I guess. I usually remap scroll lock to be the OS key (aka the Windows key). If you buy the add-on keypad you'll have a numlock key :)

If you don't have the numpad add-on and you remap a key to Numlock, what actual keys would be available as the numpad?
-
They wouldn't.
by the way, another issue I'm having with this keyboard is that the Shift key hangs. I regularly type TWo INitial CApital LEtters, SOMetimes EVEn THRee. Maybe that's an issue with my technique and getting adjusted to the board though.

Some keyboards just do that. I get that with the Torpe every now and again.
