The Massdrop for Beyerdynamic DT880s hit its max goal, pushing the price for Premiums down to $239. (https://www.massdrop.com/buy/beyerdynamic-dt880-premium) Seems like a deal, down from a $300+ MSRP.
However.
Amazon, meanwhile, has the DT880 Pros for $195 (http://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-DT-880-Pro-Headphones-250/dp/B001B1QENY/).
The difference between the two models appears negligible (per head-fi) (http://www.head-fi.org/t/635205/beyerdynamic-880-pro-vs-880-premium-why-the-difference#post_8847003), so the Amazon price looks pretty good by comparison.
Edit: Just saw that missalaire beat me to this by a wide margin (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=51740.0), but I'm not so sure the 15% discount from before is still active.

Owch, Pretty expensive except for audiophiles

Well, if you want something less expensive but reasonably well regarded, Amazon has Koss Porta Pros for $25 (http://www.amazon.com/Koss-PortaPro-Headphones-with-Case/dp/B00001P4ZH/) (head-fi reviews (http://www.head-fi.org/products/koss-portapro-headphones-with-case)).

If you want to go even cheaper but something that sounds the same (uses the same drivers, I believe), and I think they are even more comfortable too:

As if the HHKB wasn't expensive... -_- (I used to own one too)

anyone know how would the 880 premium compare against the AD900s (open) i have right now. AD900 becoming more and more uncomfortable as they keep sliding off my head.

Ooo. I currently have the A900Xs (closed), and from what I've read on headfi, the ATs are supposedly more favored as they're less drowned out by bass, and has better highs and mids. I'd assume this would be a similar case with the AD900s. Unless you're looking for more bass, I'd stick with your AD900s. I'll be getting AD900Xs in a few weeks, so I guess I'll have to do a comparison with it against the A900Xs, as this hasn't really been done much.
I do agree that the Beyerdynamics look amazingly comfy. You can fix your "sliding off head" issue with the elastic band trick. I have a big head so the wing support of the ATs work wonders for me.

Well, wish I would have held off on getting those HD 558s, lol.
