Title: I'm about to order...
Post by: colinm478 on Sun, 22 December 2013, 14:15:28: My body is ready. My mind is ready. I am ordering my mechanical keyboard today.
I haven't had one since back 1999-2002ish, so I don't really know what feel I like more. I love the clicks and the clacks. Which is why I was leaning toward a blue switch type, but I've heard they are hard for double taps and are overly loud. I have also am looking at the browns, which are supposedly lighter but quieter and the tactile feedback isn't as noticeable.
I game, but I also program and I really would like the best of both worlds.

So, what do?

These are the two I am looking at, tell me which you would get in my situation.

Full disclosure, I just posted this thread on /r/MechanicalKeyboards but I feel like the people here really know keyboards better.

PS: I will be upgrading to thick PBT keycaps, GabeN willing black on black sub. (fingers crossed for the GB).

I've found blues perfectly acceptable for gaming (depending on the game). However, you'll probably do better with the Browns.

Yeah I'm not getting it from amazon, it's just easiest to list from there.

Hey man I have browns in my ten key pad and I like them because they're almost as quiet as blacks but still a tiny bit tactile. I like being able to feel my key strokes. I had them in my rosewill 9000. I'm getting clears in my new board but I like my browns in my ten key pad.

I didn't pay that, I found it cheaper elsewhere. Plus, isn't it easier to find keycaps for Cherrys?

Yes topre only has HHKB caps, realforce caps, cc blanks, now gasmask blanks.

The pitfalls of keyboarding is in neither the brand, nor the switch.

All you've succeeded in purchasing today is a token towards material addiction.. Not wrong, but short sighted..

filco is good, it's also a relic, a good-relic..

From what I've read Filcos start to shine really fast. Something Cherry boards normally do not know.

I paid ~ $185. Had I ordered from amazon, and got the same shipping (5-7) I would of paid ~ $240
