Reviews are a bit concerning. Also, if I'm not mistaken you can get a brand new, Korean IPS from those ebay sellers for this price.

Korean ebay panels are hit/miss.
Stories now coming up that panels after half a year or so ends up exhibiting some problems.

Korean PLS ftw but some people don't like to gamble with Korean monitors even though there's been a lack of horror stories lately. Also the stand is a plus on this HP monitor, any stand that goes portrait is better than the large majority of Korean IPS/PLS in general. Only the height adjustable Korean IPS monitors have good stands.

This is true. Either way though, I think I'd recommend that people wait to buy imo. Since 4k monitors have really hit the market now and will become more commonplace over time, 1440p monitors will only get cheaper and deals like this one and http://slickdeals.net/f/6543154-dell-recertified-27-ultrasharp-ips-monitor-u2713hm-2560x1440-389-fs-optiodata-com? will only come up more often. Hopefully new ones will reach this price before too long.

Also, there should be 96Hz-120Hz 1440p 27"-32" IPS/PLS with Gsync coming soon... may be worth waiting if gamer with recent nvidia card... though it may also be possible to buy Gsync control board upgrades separately for certain panels.
