Had my eye on this one :D

Yeah, rare to have an aussie selling one, hence best to keep it here in convict town I guess.
-
even with a $70 international shipping cost this may end up being cheaper as long as it doesn't go for the high 300s
-
Its going to get real ex , real fast
-
Wow SSK prices just keep climbing. And I thought I overpaid for mine a couple months back.
-
Up to $202.50 already, still got 5 days to go.
I reckon it will reach $300, not so sure about $400, but it's a possibility.
-
The seller is a good guy, no doubt it will arrive safely exactly as described. I wish I had the money to throw at it. :))

You may be right here, but once it arrives in the $400+ territory I'll rather get another GON.

255$.
And still 4.5 days to go ...
-
$355.00 and still nearly 4 days to go.
Maybe I was wrong :))

These people are nuts. Although it could be like the last one that sold, got bid high so early that no one bothered trying to snipe.
Not that I'm complaining haha
-
/me is selling ssk for 165 usd. :P
-
Hmmm this climbed quickly... a bidding war with someone that has zero feedback... suspicious about inflating the price.

I noticed that but I have a feeling it's actually joneslee85. (http://geekhack.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1637)

This might not be price inflating. I put up my SSK last night for $275 and it sold overnight...0 feedback buyer but he just paid the invoice so seems like he's a genuine buyer. Of course my price was lower than this SSK in Australia but there seems to be a disconnect from the Ebay pricing and the price of SSK's on GH.
On a side note, I don't use Ebay much, but oh god those fees are so heavy...

Prices of these have fluctuated astonishingly this year. They have sold from <$100 to >$400. It depends on precisely who is in the market TODAY and how lustful or greedy they are.
Ebay fees have tripled in the last few years, as they drop most of their listing fees to near zero. Being mindful of fees may change your technique - everything outside of straight auctions of 7 days or less will cost you dearly. Fixed-price until-it-sells is the most expensive by far.

So true FH. I got my NIB SSK from 1987 for $140 and a second used one (1987 too) in excellent shape for $170. One off of Ebay and the other Craigslist. That was around May or June of this year.
-
Ok so it's now $405 - I was wrong (although I did say it was a possibility).
-
As much as I wanted to buy SSK, but I already gave up on the bidding. Let's see how high it would go up to. Good luck to any bidders out there

There are few enough of these listed in Australia - wonder if it will reach $500 ...
Although even with the silly shipping prices from US you could probably get one for under that from eBay US.
-
A little more than 30 minutes left. Where's the popcorn...

Over $400AUD, better off getting a brand new GON :thumb: .
-
Sold for AU$405.00 (US$361.67) after 19 bids - curious.
Did anyone here buy it?

I think so, but maybe they're too embarrassed to publicly admitting to buying it now :p . The power of Geekhack pushing IBM SSK's is just so great.

Isn't Tinlong over on your side of the world?
Why don't some of you Aussies get together and buy a load of them?
Sell a couple for enough to make the one you keep - free.

If I was still into IBM's then I might set up something but I'm into other things now, hence no longer interested in anything relating to old IBM's anymore.
I think as you get older you venture into other areas more suited to your own circumstances and availabilities ;) .
-
Ended at 405 AUD + shipping (75 AUD for me) !
Even if its broken, I wonder if getting one from taobao and repairing it would be cheaper at that price.

Dorkvader, you could easily purchase a round the world trip from the desperate's on Ebay, at any time :thumb: . Go for it, what have you got to lose?
