Details
The Teensy USB Development Board is a complete USB-based microcontoller development system. Only a standard Mini-B USB cable is needed to connect to a PC or Macintosh. This version has solder pads for all I/O signals. Also included with each Teensy ordered is a set of 40 male header pins (not soldered to Teensy).

Their base shipping cost is $3.50 or so. The only difference here is that you have to solder on the header pins to the Teensy. Which is very easy to do. So, by soldering your own pins, and ordering in bulk, you will save at least $6 for one piece. Consider each additional unit you order as an additional $5 saved.

HydroMule: that PCB expressly expects by its pinouts to be given the 2.0 in particular, yes. Same with the phantom.

looked at that site and it seems that international orders (Canada) doesn't really make a difference and saves like 50 cents going through pjrc but I don't know if header pins are included. and going with adafruit theirs is $20 and $9.50 shipping I think. So this ends up being a little cheaper.

You get a 40-pin set of header pins by ordering from me, so let's do the math, shall we?

I have to order 4 to make up for it and for me to save anything by entering into this GB. It doesn't make much sense for international orders I am afraid.

Now I only need steel plates that support opening switches without desoldering to build my first keyboard!

I believe it is just classifieds that has the required post count. I'm not sure if JD closed orders or not yet, but with his last post on here he mentioned that he might leave orders open until he received all the payments or Feb. 21 rolls around.

As long as you can pay right away, I left the order form open. I've been trying to stay on top of sending invoices out to people placing new orders, so that they don't have to wait to make their payment.

I have been using power plugs meant for charging USB devices and a USB cable until now. It is basically a wall plug with a USB connector on it (pretty much a small sized 230VAC-5VDC transformer I guess). I think we need a list of sources for the cheapest power plug USB chargers.

Post by: mkawa on Sun, 02 March 2014, 11:30:42: take any 5v power rail, hook the ground up to ground on a USB mini connector, and the 5V to the 5V pin and the teensy will power up when you plug in the mini USB. the teensy only asks for 500ma, so as long as your power supply can give it that, you're good. in the US, the cheapest reliable USB wall warts are probably monoprice's. otherwise, i'd say buy like 5 off of ebay from an HK seller with high feedback, test them all and just toss the ones that don't work.

Yeah, despite my best efforts I'm starting to think I'm not cut out for soldering haha. Getting the pins on my Teensy was a pain in the ass.
