Title: Problem with my Unicomp
Post by: wshyang on Mon, 30 December 2013, 00:53:47
Hi guys,

Hope to get some help from here :(

I am having this problem with my Unicomp whereby if I try to type the ":" character, nothing happens. The keyboard however does register if I hold down the ";" key and the right "Shift" key instead.

The funny thing about it though is, my ";" key works. My left "Shift" key works as well, but the two just don't seem to work together.

Another thing that I've noticed is that from time to time my keyboard does goes on a runaway and keep going "000000" after I've pressed on the upper "0" key. Could my problem with the ":" character be caused by a stuck key?

Try using AquaKeytest to test if the key is working

Try popping off the cap (so you can see the spring), and reseating it a few times. Maybe give the spring a light wiggle (making sure to not dislodge it). I've seen similar things before, where things aren't totally seated properly, usually after moving the keyboard around.
