Title: Where to get stabilizers/will they fit?
Post by: xSpartanCx on Thu, 02 January 2014, 17:20:54
I'm building a phantom and would like to make sure I'm buying the right thing. I want costar stabilizers, and have (I think) a 6.25x spacebar (It's an ANSI 1.25x set). I wanted to know if the costar stabilizers and cherry springs would work together, and if it would fit a 6.25x space bar.

Basically, I want to know whether the spacebar spring is 7x or 6.25x and if I need anything more than just clips and a spring.

There's no spring. The MX switch under the space bar is what pushes it back up. People usually use a stiffer spring for the switch under the space bar to compensate for the weight.

The WASD site is a great place for costar stabs.

Regarding the space bar wire you can either buy one or some people bend them, if you search the threads you'll find this.

If your plate is ANSI 1.25, the spacebar is definitely 6.25 units wide.

In addition to 10 clips, 4 of the 2x springs, and a spacebar spring, you'll need 10 inserts, these:

WASD calls the stabilizer wires "springs."

Well that's just confusing isn't it.

I'm going to continue bending my springs by hand....

Doesn't even sound right :)

So the space bar wire/spring/whatever will fit 6.25x?
