Ok so maybe I am missing something but other than Keycap colors -- you can buy this now can't you in the Pro series?

Damn you! That is a link back to this thread.
I just spent the last 5 minutes reading this thread down to your post, clicking the link and starting all over again.
So what makes this a "premier" keyboard? It is only Colemac, green keycaps, and a couple of extra switches.
Or is "Premier" just marketing hype?
Also, wouldn't you need an alternative keycap set if you wanted to switch to Colemac?

Haha. Sorry rowdy, I had originally posted the same topic under geekhack media and it got merged to this thread. :P
I think "premier" is just the series of this keyboard. No flashy LEDs -- just a plain, good looking keyboard with thick dye-sub PBT. I think ducky was just testing the waters with the 9008G2Pro series :)
i think premier is for 'premier typist keyboard'.
just look at the features it has.
shine = gamer, bling
zero = budget
zero shine = budget gamer
premier = typist, keyboard enthusiast.

If they make a TKL it's shall be on my desk.

The premiere does dvork and colemark via dip switch.
If not for the cherry stabs, I'd say this is a better deal than the filco.

does anyone actually use dvork or colemark over qwerty?

Perhaps I don't understand this question correctly. People certainly use Dvorak and Colemak instead of qwerty. Does that justify special dip switches? Maybe not, but it's a neat feature that probably wasn't too hard to add and will make some people quite happy.
Morei thought you could change the keyboard layout in most os's anyway. i'd be curious how many people on here use dvorak and colemark.Ok so maybe I am missing something but other than Keycap colors -- you can buy this now can't you in the Pro series?

If it's a typist keyboard they should ditch the Reds for Clears.

Unless you type a lot, as a programmer, I find Red or Clear makes no differences. Some ppl might prefer Red to Clear. All are just personal pref
Nobody wants clears.

How can we talk about what a good deal it is when we don't know how much it costs? (Or do we?)
INPAD (a Taiwan distributor/partner) has Ducky Premier listed for 3090NTD for blue, brown, red and 3590NTD for green switches. No sign of whites yet, but I would imagine them to be the same price (or similar) to green.

But using reds vs clears is a completely different experience.
I wonder why they can't do blue/white, blue/grey looks meh in my opinion.
Though they should really just sell the keycaps separately.
Huh wow that is a such a steal.Ducky boards are always cheaper in Taiwan.
I bet that's probably just a placeholder price though.
The price on mechanicalkeyboards.com is $129, very good price indeed

Now if only they had one with clears and with a white/beige or gray key cap color scheme. :D

You can, but it's certainly useful to be able to do it on the keyboard itself… no fiddling with settings if you plug into a new computer.
All out of stock tho :'(

That's because they are on pre-order they haven't come in yet.

I concur with this. Dvorak is certainly already implemented in most if not all major OS's but I'm not sure on that wide of implementation of Colemak. Plus if you work in a place where IT is on a power trip and doesn't allow users access to those settings this would give you access to those layouts without having to bribe/hack the system which could possibly get you fired.

Can't wait for the TKL edition to hit :)
Looks like this keyboard will be out sooner than I expected.
I thought this was going to be a spring/summer release.

A fitting successor for the G2 Pro PBT.
I just wish they'd offer the keycaps separately...

Hi, this is my first post (I will introduce myself in the correct thread after this).
To the point, since this seems to be the main thread for this keyboard I post some news here, mainly for the Nordic/European crowd I believe: https://www.teraset.net/ducky.php#5
The ever so frustrating "Available soon" is gone, Ducky Premier will be available in May and the separate keycaps aswell. Hurray, right?
Sorry if this is well known around the forum but atleast the info gets to this thread too.
CCnG! If anyone stocks this in Australia I will definitely buy.
