Title: MX LED positioning
Post by: tbc on Sun, 05 January 2014, 16:55:48
Does the pcb restrict the positioning of the LED for mx switches?  switches are usually positioned where the LED is on top so legend highlighting will work.  I personally don't give a **** about legend highlighting and would prefer the LED be on the 'bottom' (flipped 180).

basically, do all pcbs support the rotating the switch and still have the LED connect properly?

No. I would say at least 90% that accommodate LED for backlight have the switch 'upside down'. I can't think of any commercial backlight MX boards that have the legend on the bottom of the key. I can't think of any customs that allow you to position the switch both ways... though most customs do have the LED on the bottom with the switch installed 'right way up'.
