Still have a killer SNES collection though :thumb:
also yes, buy one
I got an OG Dreamcast

I'm thinking of getting one of these refurbed nintendos with mario/duck hunt, a controller, blaster and of course a copy of tetris and I should be good. I can even hook it up and use it in my wifes van.

Buy the v2, aka NES Jr
The front loading console has issues, and tends to destroy the pins on games because of it's design. This is the reason why so many NES games had to be 'blown' to work.
just buy the controller.. and the usb converter.. and play emu..
playing the original console is a huge bother...
if you play emu, you can use a computer CRT, way better than your TV,
you also get fast forward through stupid unskippables, and save states for obviously repetitive puzzle situations.
Not to mention auto fire for strategy games where you can spam attack and mine exp off random battles..
For example on SNES, you can program ur character to run in a circle and to auto attack.. This way you can turn it up to 30x speed, and leave it for a few hours.. and ur character is all leveled up...

But no light fun with duck hunt....it wouldn't be the same...
I mean yeah I can play marion on my wii.....but the wii sucks....
The Dreamcast was ahead of its time. Poor Sega...
Ray, skip the NES and go for a SNES. They last forever, and the games are just as fun, with better graphics. I still have all my classic consoles, and the SNES is still my favorite. There is a reason why most of the games in the Wii arcade are from the SNES era.

they make PC light guns compatible with the emu ??Show Image(http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/onion-head/victory-onion-head-emoticon.gif?1292862523)
they're also way more accurate.

Soooo, light guns don't really work on flatscreens. Just an FYI
Any light gun that's later than the Namco Pointblank model for the PS1 wasn't made with the curvature and scanlines of a CRT in mind.
also, emulation can never hold a candle to the experience of playing on the actual system. Save states are for pussies.

That game rocks! Even more fun in the arcade. Top view game at the bowling alley :p
I still have my original hooked up. I still have gaming sessions with my brothers. Tons of nostalgic fun. I have 38 games, two of which are double.
SpAmRaY, if you do get an OG NES, let me know and I'll send you over Double Dragon II and/or StarTropics if interested.
Man those controllers could be deadly. I remember my brother getting pissed a few times and slinging his into a wall. Those corners can cut deep :)
I'm way into N64 and SNES :D
And that's a great trade Halvy

That system is in my living room, think I have 30+ games.....**** I AM a spoiled kid!
i don't got an NES as i was still in Taiwan during that time.
I do have a Famicom though =DShow Image(http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/72/Famicom-Console-Set.jpg)
its in the basement in the Styrofoam box that it came in, i think i need to find an RF adapter though.
I remember it used to use the old RF Adapter that had the 2 flat U shaped prongs on it.
I also have a fully working SNES (USA 1st gen model) and an N64.
Both have the pegs drilled out so it can play imported carts.

Do you have a quick link on how to drill out the N64 pegs? I was a little skeptical as to how some of the guides I found that did it.

honestly i did it when i was in middle school haha
i just took my dad's drill and put a drill bit to the system and just went to town.
didn't even tape off the cartridge socket or anything.
If you don't wanna drill anything out, you can use a Gameshark.
since you put the game on top of the gameshark, there's no need to mod the system itself.

N64 is still my favourite system by far. :)
And spam, you won't regret getting a NES. I've still got my old NES and it works splendidly. Love that thing, I used to play Bubble Bobble so much...
hope it comes with a working RF switch
or you have the modded ones.

The NA model has RCA ports on it. I'm assuming that's the model he ended up getting, so he shouldn't have much trouble connecting it to whatever TV he's using. :)

So turns out Tetris and Super Mario are still awesome. Now I've got to find an old TV to play duck hunt.
