Gumrot is unfortunately limited to MX switch types for now. So no, it would not work with your HHKB.

If it says topre, you can use it on HHKB

If it says MX, you can only use it on MX boards or CM Topre with Mx stem boards

Thanks for the quick reply. Any advice as to where to get some sweet Topre caps for this baby. Ahhh it's so smooth compare to my Leopold tenkeyless blue switches.

lol well yea... the thing is I don't even know where to get the Gumrot keys as of now anyway. Only place I ever saw them was Elitekeyboards but they are all sold out and the clackfactory website wasn't up last time I looked. Like I said I'm new here so excuse my ignorance in these matters please.

Keep an eye out for sales from clackfactory in his 4grabs thread on his vendor forum.  Here: http://geekhack.org/index.php?board=78.0

Also recommend taking a look at the gas mask keycaps here: http://gasmaskkeycap.com/

Unfortunately these sell out rather quick, but i can tell you, Bro Caps is a huge fan of Topre and his v2 brobots are not far off from going on sale. I would highly recommend keeping an eye on his vendor forum as well.  Here: http://geekhack.org/index.php?board=145.0

The HHKB is indeed a god tier keyboard. Glad you're enjoying it.

Good luck with the hunt!

You can only get CC's either from EK lottery, 4grabs, or gettting chosen by CC himself

I think the OP is under the impression that clacks are off-the-shelf items and are only unavailable because it's waiting for a restock shipment.

And next thing he's going to think is people will try to sell it to him at the price they payed for it.

Can we please just explain to him the way these things work instead of being so condescending and elitist towards our newer members?

Just be helpful, no need to be mean.

lol alright lets get some noob questions out of the way

you guys are right about me thinking its an off the shelf item (the gumrot) but since it doesn't work on topre switches then I guess why should I care as of now. So is it a user on here that makes them?

what/who is noobinator?

Is there a dip switch on this HHKB to make the "Command/meta" key do something? What does it even do? I thought that was kind of going to be the windows key. Is it possible to do that?

Thanks for your patience I'm sure I'll have the hang on this and how things work around here in no time! :thumb:

It's a user here who makes them. Clickclack/clackfactory

Nubbinator is a user here as well. He makes keycaps, cables, and a few other things.

The meta key should be a windows key, but I'm not sure.

CC goes on GH, he makes CC's in his spare time. he has a FAQ which you should probally read.

Nubbinator is another maker of custom keycaps

read the dip switch manual for the key mapping

Only one I have up right now is 3, which one makes the Command/meta key function as the Windows key?

You can check the elite page below it should help

http://www.elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=pfu_keyboards,hhkbpro2&pid=pdkb400b (http://www.elitekeyboards.com/products.php?sub=pfu_keyboards,hhkbpro2&pid=pdkb400b)

do you meta keys do anything at all now?

I'm thinking turn SW1 On and SW 2 Off to put it in light mode

and remember you need to unplug it, switch the dip switches and then plug back in.

Where are you from kskwerl?
What do you mean with 'flush synergy'? Gasmask had some blanks that would look great. I have one which is on my switch tester as I don't own any Topre (yet) and a mask.
The two on the left are Topre compatible for example.

Don't worry Binge, I have you bookmarked. Check my sig. ;)

I'm from NJ USA but live in Florida. Are those for sale? That red Gasmask is sick looking! Do those eyes light up on the green one if there's an LED under it?

As far as I remember they don't. The pink one is translucent and MX only. I'll have to check how much shipping is to you after the weekend. Otherwise you can have the green one with the red eyes if you just pay shipping from The Netherlands to the US. ;)

otherwise take a look on the Gasmask subforum. Martin has a true red topre gasmask that he is selling right now. ;)

Nubbinator is a user here as well. He makes keycaps, cables, and a few other things.

The meta key should be a windows key, but I'm not sure.

I no longer do cables for anyone but myself.  It just wasn't worth it.  Instead, I play around with wood projects (cases, wrist wrests, cap pullers, and keycaps), resin casting caps, metal casting caps, and other fun experiments when I have the time.

I know right? ;)

It's not a bookmark replacement but it can certainly function as such. Since it's all public you can even get notified whenever someone 'Pearls' the same page so you can take a look at their links. I primarily use it as a quick and easy way to gather info on things I like. :)
