Title: Ninja says hello!
Post by: oNinjaDispatcho on Fri, 10 January 2014, 18:48:59
Hi all!
First off, you guys rock. I love the community you have here, and all the cool projects I keep seeing.
I got bored of just reading and wanted to start doing something myself, posting, modding, buying  :D

Some of my gaming friends told me about the magical technology of Mechanical Keyboards, and I thought I would give it a try.
I wasn't exactly ready to doll out $100+ just yet on a keyboard I knew nothing about, so I bought this little doohickey for $10 on amazon (resold by amazon, originally from maxkeyboard.com)

I decided that I am going to get Red Switches, and most likely on a QFR, and buy some new caps and make it look all pretty like.  :)

Glad to finally be a member of the GeekHack community!

That's got to be the smartest investment for newcomers to mechs I've ever seen. I effectively bought blind with my first mechanical and luckily wound up being happy with the purchase (Blues), but I would have felt much more confident had I known about this.

Don't forget the FC660C, it's not too expensive for Topre and it feels great.

Welcome!
