He has them listed at $97. I submitted an offer for $35 & he countered with $55. I offered $40 and he accepted. I would bet you can get them for less from him if you play your offers right. The listing has been up for a while.(I've overpaid for every keyboard I have :P)

Wicked.
Do you plan to hook it up or put it on the shelf?
-
Bugger, $55 to ship to the UK.

I'm thinking I need a new shelf :P...
ALSO:
I think some of these keys will work as a replacement for some of the missing Kishsaver keys...

All the advantages of the XT layout, now in an even bigger size!!

One of the few posts on here that have actually had me laughing.

Don't know how you did it, but I got auto-rejected.
Am wondering whether they decided they sold too cheaply to you, and upped their expectations.
In any case I'm not paying a pile of money for this. Model Fs are nice, but hardly worth paying ridiculous prices for especially when you need to do lots of modding.

Sold as is, but $97
What.

Could be... shipping was only $6 too so I think they lost some money there too.

Darn, that's what I call spoiling the market.
In retrospect, it would have been nice for you to have bought all, heh.
Anyway RecycledGoods doesn't sell things cheap. Must have been a pure mistake.

Did you top post your bid?
On the topic at hand, this place has been selling these for years and one point (at least) let them go for around $30, so it might be worth another shot.

Selling them for years?
Not surprising, given the exorbitant price of $97.
Made another bid for $35. If they reject, I'm not going to bother anymore. Not as if I'm great at modding.

I don't recall how the IBM 3178's naming convention was done (I'm thinking there's a prefix identifier with C1, C2, C3, and C4). I just know that some had the extra function pad on the right side.

No auto rejection, manual this time. They didn't even bother to counteroffer.
Why am I so freaking unlucky?
In any case I'm not such a Model F fanatic that I would raise my bid.

I have this exact model, that I got for that price, including the manual.
About the PF keys on the right, I have images of the 4 layouts in the manual. The cool part about this is it shows which are typematic keys (send upcodes): you can also easily see why converting just the protocol is less than useful.
For what it's worth, only the model C1 (data entry) kb is missing those keys:
Images on my imgur have not yet been ported to my flickr http://imgur.com/a/Qe41v
For a while I wanted a C2 or C4 for the front printed F# legends on the number row keycaps, like the 6020218 has.

I believe I have a C4 but I'd have to dig it out to check.
-
it's a C2 (based on your picture and my manual).
The C4 has the rightmost keys printed with numbers on top and front printed with PF#
As a side note: even though they feature typematic repeat, IBM does not recommend using that functionality when pressing a PF key. Unexpected program behavior may occur.
