Title: Little help with these custom keycaps
Post by: sloppie on Sat, 11 January 2014, 17:25:13
I ordered a set of thick PBT from IMSTO for the first time ever. I'm currently having problem with keys using cherry stablizer (left shift, Enter, NUMPAD + & NUMPAD Enter) and the spacebar.

Anyone knows the if Das Keyboard has different spacebar size?
The keys get stuck somewhat hard at the bottom of the stroke.

Here are some pictures:

Many thanks.

I think the stabilizers are a bit misaligned

I'm pretty sure the problem is more or less what you have shown already, the stabilizers don't fit the keys that well.

Do you guys think it would work if i break off the 4 corners circled in picture 3?
It doesn't seem possible to move the spacebar stablizer since the 2 stand-off are at max width.
I'm not sure which spacebar is using non-standard size.

This is the set I'm using.

Check your space bar for "straightness."

Chances are it's your space bar that is warped// mis molded

It could also be that the stems are warped, while the exterior of the bar is straight...

This is typical of PBT-spacebars..

It is VERY unlikely that your stabilizer slots are the problem, because they're punched into metal via template.

because ur Original space bar fits.

Sometimes key just doesn't come out quite right from the factory. I would let imsto know, they may be able to take care of you.
