Short-term promo. I like this monitor a lot.
IPS, LED backlit, 8ms refresh, and a kind of weird resolution at 1920x1200 (16:10) that never bothered me.

Good deal for people (like me) who prefer 16:10 to 16:9.

Don't like these as much as the older model but I've been using then for a while.
And 1920x1200 ftw!
I despise 1080 resolution.

I thought this been 229? Like yesterday.

this is the dithering panel correct?
the 6bit.

I thought IPS panels were 8bit, and if they used dithering you could get 10bit.
and TN panels are 6bit that can get up to 8bit with dithering.

According to an article I found (http://www.anandtech.com/show/5550/dell-u2412m-16-10-ips-without-breaking-the-bank), it's an e-IPS panel and is indeed 6bit native.
TFTcentral (http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/dell_u2412m.htm) says the panel is a LG LM240WU8-SLA2

dithering makes the screen just a tad blurry... not the end of the world though.. for this price... it's pretty solid.
