Title: IBM Model M: PS/2 vs AT cable
Post by: ozar on Sat, 14 February 2009, 10:02:51
Would any of you happen to know if a Model M that came with the black cable and AT type connector will work if I remove that cable and plug in the cable that comes with the PS/2 connector?  Or is it a must that I use the default black cable and use an AT to PS/2 adapter with it?

I'm guessing that substituting the cable should work fine, but don't want to break anything by not asking before doing it.

Thanks to anyone that knows for sure!

It does.

for example, 1390120 and 1390131 both work fine with a ps/2 plug cable.

Thanks, Sandy. I've been wondering about that myself.
