Now I have never been keen on track balls but was recommended one to help with my right shoulder RSI.
The thing is huge and feels lovely. I am very impressed with it.
I bought a second hand one and now wish I had spent a bit more to get one new.
Does anyone know where you can by parts for these?
My left button is worn and the palm rest is a bit worn too.

Just curious, how is the left button worn? Discolored maybe, but still functioning, no?
Don't know about the wrist rest though. I don't use mine but use my keyboard wrist rest instead. On a mini keyboard a standard wrist rest is wide enough to include the mouse. Works pretty good for me.
Its a great mouse by the way. Not so much for gaming but for everything else its just about perfect. I use mine on the left hand side too.

I just emailed kensington asking them if they sell replacement wrist rests. Will let you know when they reply.

i would think the twisting of the ring to scroll on web pages would start cause rsi ? no ?

I hope not.
Anything you do over and over can cause RSI.
It is not limited to any part of the body either.
Mine is in my right shoulder and I don't think the scroll wheel will affect that at all so I should be OK.
Just like to add it takes no effort to turn the ring at all. I just move it with my ring finger.

FWIW I prefer the scroll ring over a standard scroll wheel. Not having RSI I can't tell you if it would affect you or not.

I received a similar reply when I asked them about the piece of plastic that attaches the wrist rest to the trackball. They had the cheek to send me a customer satisfaction survey afterwards.

I have yet to hear back so thanks for that mate.
You would think they could take one from stock. Cherry send all sorts of parts and keys and stuff out for free!
I guess I will just have to make a mouse palm rest too :)

You might want to try switching your mouse to your left hand. It works great for me, but of course for gaming I just switch back n forth :D. And relax your right arm and place it near your groin :D (find the right position so your right arm will be fully relaxed, no pressure on your shoulder or whatsoever).
edit;
And use only wrist pad for your left wrist. While typing, you rest your left wrist on the pad, and hover your right arm.

I’m a die hard Kensington trackball user.
The tech support has always been super nice with. My first trackball was an Expert (not pro, not optical, no wrist pad or anything) with a detachable cable. After many many years of faithful use the cable connections on the board went bad. The trackball was way out of its 5 years warranty support. I called Kensington, told them how big of a fan I was and how much advertizing I’m doing for their trackballs. Blab bla bla bla.
The guy said, ok ok ok. Here’s your RMA number. Send us your ball and we will return it with a new base.
Couple weeks later I got a new Expert in the mail. I was really impressed.
Did you get an Optical Expert (black base, black buttons, with a scroll wheel around the ball) or the old Expert? (grey, 4 buttons no scrolling device)
The Expert Pro had a longer base working as a wrist support.
