Hello,
I am a freelance software developper and finally decided to give in and buy THE Keyboard. I am still considering options though :)
See you in the forum.

Bienvenue a geekhack.org.
I'm not sure what you mean by "THE Keyboard". I hope you don't mean Das Keyboard. Those are not that great, IMO, and they are expensive for what you get, which is nothing special. For me, the one true keyboard is the HHKB Pro 2 Type-S. Which is what I would recommend for you. Especially if you are a coder. Topre switches can't be beat.
Anyway, bon chance!
EDIT: oh and I forgot to say that Lyon is an awesome place to live. You are one lucky person. If you are a human being and have to eat three meals a day, I cannot think of a better place on earth to live than Lyon.

Hey thanks :)
By THE keyboard : I mean the ultimate keyboard for me , as in my very first mechanical keyoard. At the moment I am considering the Matias mini quiet pro and the wasd v2 tenkeyless. The thing is I work on a Mac and from my lurking in this forum I got the impression that the HHKB Pro would be quite the pain to correctly setup to work with Mac OSX. I also do quite a bit of pair programming on a regular basis and i regularly participate in social coding events (coding dojos, hackatons and stuff) : I want to be able to quickly plug-in someone else's computer which may well be a Mac.
I would probably just have bought a wasd CODE keyboard but it's out of stock ... :p
The Matias mini has an interesting key layout, makes very little noise, and has well thought out USB ports to plug my phone. I read the review and the "weak" points listed don't affect me but I need to be absolutely sure the USB version works fine with a Mac. I do appreciate the USB thing but I would rather take the wasd v2 with brown cherry and heavy sound dampeners to get a well working mac layout.

Bonjour Lyon! I used to teach across the border in Villars, Suisse.
Spent a lot of time on your side of Lake Genev. You live in a grand
part of the world. Viva la France!

What software do you make? I mean, what genre? :)
Welcome!
