Apparently HaaTa has one of these. He says it’s quite nice: http://www.flickr.com/photos/triplehaata/sets/72157637931250784/

I am amazed that hataa can live in Japan and find space for his 100001 keyboards. Space is very, very expensive in Japan! I'm guessing he doesn't live in an urban area, or else inherited his samurai (or aristocrat) great grandpa's mansion?

that is one manly stabilizer on that spacebar.

Sooooo tempting, but shipping doubles the cost for me. Very torn. Anyone have a guess as to how much of a punch in the temple it would be to get this working?

He is in the Bay Area these days.

Edit: He seems to have multiples. Also, it seems as though the cases have already been sold for scrap. :(

I just got one of these. Thanks for posting, jacobolus.
I decided not to get one last time and later regretted it. Hopefully these keycaps will fit on my Honeywell keypad.

Keycaps are double shots. Undersides look like this:

According to the deskthority thread on these (http://deskthority.net/keyboards-f2/russian-hall-effect-switches-t5547.html).

There are a copy of the honeywell microswitch dual magnet hall effect switch. The PCB /plate mounting fingers are very similar (among other things)
Getting it working: you can just wire it up to a microcontroller and set it to look for 5V at a junction, though the key rollover is 2 unless you desolder the switches and wire in diodes.
I've typed on one: they are quite nice, much like the switches the emulate.
