So finally picking up Nintendo's latest console.
I've heard the new Fire Emblem is downright amazing and I'm a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics on the PSX so this one is a must. Same for the new throw-back Zelda and Mario.
What other hidden gems would you all recommend? I've already played Ocarina and StarFox enough and I'm still on the fence about new Pokemon stuff.

Pokemon Y/X
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Fire Emblem looks great
I've heard nothing but good things about the new Zelda
I've always enjoyed the Mario series

I second you FE recommendation, great game, although the system is a bit different from FF Tactics.
You can get a R4 card and play DS games too, many games on that: Phoenix Wright, Chrono Trigger, old pokemon.
The new Zelda seems to be fun too. You can also use it for emulating SNES.
Many hours of fun :P

DS games will also work in the new 3DS consoles.

The point is you can play them for free with the R4 (http://www.cute-factor.com/images/smilies/onion/th_053_XD.gif)

I rocked an R4 (or something similar) on my old DS back in the day. Clear case modded too, I wish I could get my hands on one of the clear 3DS XL prototypes. Gotta keep those Original Gameboy Play-it-Loud memories alive!

that's kinda like a furry party but not as bad..

Pokemon fo sho, I wouldn't bother with animal crossing though. It is a fun game but unless you want to put a lot of time into it and play every day it just gets frustrating.

Isnt the wii u their latest console?

I third that recommendation for Fire Emblem Awakening. Such an amazing game and a great addition to an already fantastic series. :thumb:

I heard Mario Kart 7 is pretty good as well :D

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
Any Professor Layton game
Any Ace Attorney game
Super Mario 3D Land

Yes ! Monster Hunter :D
Omg. I rmb playing MHFU with my buddies the whole day on my PSP.
I wonder if the control is as fluid as PSP tho. :X

Just going to chime in on Paper Mario Sticker Star. If you've ever played the other ones (Paper Mario, PMTTYD) and liked the RPG element to it, they COMPLETELY changed it up. There is no longer that RPG feel of leveling up or equipping different items. They completely revamped the battle system to account for the sticker mechanic. As someone who's played the original Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG, I was quite disappointed but, as a game itself, it is really good.

I remember seeing it launch in Japan with a LE 3DS. Lucky Japan!

Might sound odd, but I really like the version of Tekken for the 3DS... it's a pretty good way to blast though some spare time without having to worry about saving or anything like that...
-
I miss the gameboy days, I need to definitely find time and buy a 3DS especially since smash bros is gonna be handheld.

three years ago or something, around xmas and NY's I was stuck home alone bascially and so bought my self a brand new boxed copy of Pokemon Diamond (?) for the GBA and played the **** out of it, was amazing and a really fun xmas and ny's despite being on my own... trying to do that with the 3DS hasn't given me the same kind of pleasure... idk... maybe its me.. but portable consoles got far too many buttons and far too small and awkward to hold...

Bravely Default. New Final Fantasy-esque game from Square Enix. I think it's out in February for the US.
