Title: Bright white screen in between page loads
Post by: neunelfer on Fri, 17 January 2014, 21:52:58
I don't know if this is on my side or if others experience this..

Sometimes I get white screens in between loading pages, sometimes I don't. At night, they blind the **** out of me. Anyone else?

I've noticed this.

It's just the default blank page the web browser displays until it gets into from the server that the background should be black (or whatever colour).

Ya, it just means the page is loading slightly slower.  While the page is loading the whole page will be white.  As soon as the HTML is all received it will start drawing the page.  If the page is taking longer to load for some reason you will see the white page longer...

I guess I just don't notice it elsewhere - this is one of the only websites I visit with a dark background.

Are you using Google Chrome (or Chromium)? I notice the problem you describe with Chromium on several sites, especially if I have many windows and/or tabs open.
