Title: Feasibility of laser engraved images on keycaps
Post by: ibell7945 on Mon, 20 January 2014, 08:22:41
Now that I have access to a maker space with a small Epilog laser engraver, I'm planning to engrave a new set of keycaps for my Model M. Thus, I was wondering if these engravers have sufficient resolution and can vary their beam strength enough to produce small grayscale images on keycaps. Also, has anyone already done this?

Laser engraving isn't a new thing, you should at least try it.

If you read more carefully, my actual question is not whether or not you can laser engrave keycaps. What I am asking, however, is whether or not it is possible to engrave small pictures with differences in tone.
